L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Collection

As soon as I heard about this new range of products I knew that I wanted to try them out. I do suffer with oily roots and dry ends which is exactly what this range is aimed at. Boots were doing these three products which are; the shampoo, conditioner and mask, all for £10. I thought this was a great introductory offer however I'm not sure if Boots are still doing it. I've been using these three products together now for a few weeks so feel I can tell you all about my results using them.

So first things first you apply the mask onto dry roots and massage it in. At first I was a bit like what? But I guess it's to prep and get rid of as much oil from those roots as possible. It states to apply this relatively heavily so I do that all round my head and down my main parting. I then go round and massage it all in, you then have to leave it for 5 minutes. The first thing I noticed, and you will notice if you have used or are going to use this mask, is that it stains your fingers blue! Yes it's such a pain and it doesn't come off if you wash them straight after applying the mask. When I've been using these products it's when I've been in the bath and when I get out, my fingers have returned to normal colour, so I think they just need a good old soak.

You then go on to use the shampoo and conditioner as normal, after washing the mask out of course, and you have to make sure you thoroughly remove all traces of the mask from your hair. The shampoo and conditioner are pretty standard, they smell fresh and do the job. My hair does feel particularly soft after using this three step routine and I have really been enjoying doing so.

Onto the real deal, do it make my hair last longer in between washes? The answer is yes, I do get another day out of my hair when using these products. I can guarantee that I will have to use dry shampoo on the third day but that's no biggy as I would normally have to do that on the second day if I hadn't used these products. The only other downside to getting blue fingers is the slightly longer time period you need to do this. Obviously it's only 5 minutes but if you plan on doing this in the shower in the morning before work then you'll have to get in a bit earlier. I know it's not a huge difference but it's something to consider.

Overall I'm really impressed with these products and love that they do actually work in prolonging my hair washes. I've tried a couple of other products which claim to do this but they haven't worked so I'm glad these do. I would definitely recommend these products if you're hair type is like mine, I know hair types are different and these might not work for everyone but I can say they really do work for me. I'd love to hear your reviews if you've tried these products, let me know in the comments.

Disappointing Products #8 & #9

I purchased these two products together a while back now as they were on the new in page on Superdrug and the claims pulled me in. When I purchased the whole range had some money off so they worked out really cheap products. This is a relatively new range from Superdrug called 'Clearly Youthful' claiming a "unique anti-blemish and youth-boosting solution". As usual the anti-blemish claims pulled me in and I also noticed that both products contained Salicylic Acid which is a great spot fighting ingredient.

Firstly I'll talk about the Blemish Treatment Gel, this is the kind of product that I always have in my stash and I normally chop and change a spot gel to try and find the one for me. The packaging is simple and has a pump to dispense the product. However the pump dispenses way too much product for my liking and I end up wasting so much as there is no way you can control it. I literally only use one pump and still have a load of product left over and you cannot do 'little' pumps, it's either one pump or no product basically. I've also noticed when using this product is that is clumps a lot, which I know sounds weird for a spot gel, but often when I pump the product out I'll get a huge, hard clump of product which again is such a waste, not to mention annoying. Since using this product I haven't noticed any different in my spots at all which is such a shame considering it claims so much. I also noticed that the morning after applying this product, it's still sitting on my face and hasn't really sunk in. For me, it's just a really bad product and does nothing to help my skin/spots.

Onto the Glycolic Peel which I was really looking forward to trying as I haven't used many 'peel off' masks previously. This one has made me want to stay clear of them if I'm honest as this product is just as bad as the spot gel. This product also clumps, it comes in a squeezey tube, and often there are hard clumps in there which I have to get rid of. When this product is on my face it doesn't feel nice and is really sticky/tacky. I can't really explain the feeling but I can't say that it's an enjoyable face mask to put on and relax. Again I haven't noticed any change in my skin/spots after using this product and I have really tried to get on with this product but it's just not happening.

Overall I'm really disappointed with both of these products and will clearly not be repurchasing them or anything from this range in the future. They both have such huge claims and none of them have lived up to any claim Superdrug state. Unfortunately these products do not work for me or my skin type but there is always a chance they will work for you, this is completely just my opinion and experience with these two products.

Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer

You've probably heard me ramble on about high street primers previously so I won't bore you again. But earlier this year I purchased this little pot from Bourjois as I haven't tried it before. I'm basically on the hunt to try all high street primers and see what works best for my skin type, simply because there don't seem to be that many out there. I can't say that this one attracted me in anyway particularly but I was purchasing something else from the Bourjois range and there was an offer on so I thought I may as well give this one a go. I've previously tried Bourjois' other primer they have on offer and I really disliked it, you can read that post here, so was slightly apprehensive about this one to begin with.

When this arrived, as I ordered online, I was surprised one at the size - it's actually a very small pot and two at the consistency of the product itself. Lets talk about the packaging first, it clearly comes in this small round pot and you don't really get very much product in it at all. It's all plastic but due to it's size I think it's perfect for travelling or on the go. Next the consistency, it's like a marshmallow or a memory foam mattress if I was to try and describe it to you.

It applies super easy onto the skin and after using it I realised why there's not much product, you barely need any product to cover your whole face. It spreads easily and feels so soft on application. I simply just use my fingers to apply and like I said only use a small amount. Once it's applied my face feels semi-matte, soft and ready for foundation. Bourjois state this this product minimises the look of pores and blemishes. Now I don't have large pores so I'm not sure I can fully comment on that but I can say that this primer does not help hide the look of blemishes unfortunately. I'm not sure how that can be a claim of this product as it's translucent and the main claim is for a smooth complexion which I do think it give me; however my blemishes are still very visible.

The lasting power of this primer is ok, I do have oily patches and I do find that after 3-4 hours my oily patches are clearly coming through but I think that's a relatively good time. I tend to just blot the excess oil away, especially if I'm at work and then I'm good to go again.

Overall I'm currently enjoying using this primer however I would say that it's not the best high street primer I've found so far but it's definitely not the worst either! Let me know your thoughts on this product if you've tried it :-)

I love being nosy and looking at various wish lists, whether that's beauty or fashion. I thought I hadn't done one myself for quite some time, so thought I would get back into it with a high end beauty wish list. Personally at the moment, I feel there are so many high end beauty products that I'm lusting after! Is it just me? There seems to be a lot of new releases also which have made me all excited. I wish I could just purchase all of these, unfortunately not, however I'm hoping to tick them off one by one!

The new Lancôme lipsticks look AMAZING! I've seen and heard good things and I think they may be the first thing from this wish list that I will purchase. I'm not an avid lip stick wearer but I feel these would be perfect for myself due to not be too bold but would work with my drier lips.

The Nails Inc spray on nail varnish is something I'm unsure about and I keep thinking, how can this work? However I would still love to get my hands on one to try it out for myself. I've read a couple of reviews but haven't heard all that much about this product to be honest.

Most of the other products have actually been on my wish list for quite some time now. You know when something has been on your wish list for so long and after a while you're just like "can you be mine now please?" - well that's how I feel about these products.

I'd love to hear what's on your current beauty wish list, whether it's high end or high street. Also if you've tried any products and have reviewed them on your blog, then leave a link below for me to have a read of :-)

Benefit Perfume Gift Set

I personally received this gift set for Christmas and thought it would be a fitting blog post to write today considering it's Mother's Day in the UK. Although if you haven't yet got your Mother a treat then I suspect it's slightly too late. However whatever the occasion I feel this gift set would be a perfect gift for any female in your life.

This Benefit perfume gift set is available from many online retailers such as; Boots, Benefit themselves and Feel Unique. It retails for around £20 which I think is such an affordable gift price for what you receive. You get three mini's of Benefit's retailing perfumes including; Eva, Lee Lee and Gina. They all come with their individual boxes too so if you were feeling really creative then you could actually separate them and give them to three people.

The only slight downside to these perfumes are that they don't have a spray on the top which annoys me slightly. It obviously doesn't take away the loveliness of the present but it's just the little things. However I think this is such a nice gift, whether you give it whole or separate them, for all you girls.

I hope you're all enjoying your Sunday whether you're spending it with your Mother's or family or not. I can't believe the weekend is nearly over already!

La Roche-Posay Nutritic Lips

If you've been reading my blog for a while now then skip ahead, if you're new then you'll need to know that relatively recently I've been scouring the high street beauty shops for the perfect lip balm. My lips, a few months back, became very dry and nothing I had in my stash was helping. So I headed online to Boots to see what I could find on offer. I've tried a few now but the current one that I've been testing out is this one from La Roche-Posay. I picked this up in a recent haul as it was on offer and I love several other products from La Roche-Posay so thought this would be a good option.

I've been using this now for a good few weeks and have really been enjoying it. I must admit there's nothing 'special' about this product packaging or smell or luxe wise. It's your standard twist up lip balm in plastic packaging but what I will admit is that it does the job, really quite well. On application it doesn't seem like the creamiest of lip balms but it actually really is. It keeps my lips hydrated for a long period of time and actually stops them from being sore/itchy. There's no scent to this product either which I actually quite like as it just makes it seem really focused on transforming your lips.

There's not much more I can say about a lip balm but what I can say is that I've really been enjoying using this offering from La Roche-Posay. I believe it retails around £6 which may seem like quite a bit for a high street lip balm but I believe it really does work. Let me know if you've tried this or what your favourite lip balm for dry lips is :-)
