Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in Bare Enough

If you ever said to me the two words "lip gloss", I would of immediately switched off as they have simply never appealed to me. I've tried some in the past, however they just left my lips feeling sticky so honestly I never went back. Until recently, when I asked my sister what he favourite high street make up product was, and she replied this exact product.

So in my latest Boots online order, this product sneakily made its way into my bag. I picked the shade 'bare enough' as a nude lip is my favourite. It was on offer when I purchased it and I ended up paying £7, which I thought was really reasonable. I also love Soap & Glory as a brand, both skin care and make up. Therefore I had high hopes for this product and was super excited to try it out. 

I've used this product numerous times now and I swear I love using it more and more every time. It is a lip gloss, with a slight hint of colour and a lot of shine. However, this is not just any lip gloss; it's a plumping lip gloss. Being someone who had a smaller top lip, the plumping factor really appeals to me. A short time after application, this product begins making your lips tingle, as most lip plumping products do. I know some people hate that feeling however I personally like it. It's one of those 'you know it's working' sensations and it really does plump your lips. 

This product has definitely converted me into liking lip glosses and I'm definitely more open to trying out new ones. If you haven't tried this one then I 100% would recommend it. It really does plump your lips naturally, without looking stupid. The gloss factor is great as well and also looks fab over the top of a nude coloured lip stick. 

La Roche-Posay Nutritic Lips

If you've been reading my blog for a while now then skip ahead, if you're new then you'll need to know that relatively recently I've been scouring the high street beauty shops for the perfect lip balm. My lips, a few months back, became very dry and nothing I had in my stash was helping. So I headed online to Boots to see what I could find on offer. I've tried a few now but the current one that I've been testing out is this one from La Roche-Posay. I picked this up in a recent haul as it was on offer and I love several other products from La Roche-Posay so thought this would be a good option.

I've been using this now for a good few weeks and have really been enjoying it. I must admit there's nothing 'special' about this product packaging or smell or luxe wise. It's your standard twist up lip balm in plastic packaging but what I will admit is that it does the job, really quite well. On application it doesn't seem like the creamiest of lip balms but it actually really is. It keeps my lips hydrated for a long period of time and actually stops them from being sore/itchy. There's no scent to this product either which I actually quite like as it just makes it seem really focused on transforming your lips.

There's not much more I can say about a lip balm but what I can say is that I've really been enjoying using this offering from La Roche-Posay. I believe it retails around £6 which may seem like quite a bit for a high street lip balm but I believe it really does work. Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

I cannot begin to tell you how long I waited for one of these lip oils from Clarins, my word! I first saw them on Lily Pebbles blog and ever since have wanted one of my own. I think I gave up after a little while; little did I know they were supposed to be limited edition. Clarins listened to us bloggers, and everyone else after one, and have released them again. Thank the Lord! I believe I saw someone tweet on my timeline saying they were back in stock and I don't think I've ever moved so fast. I ordered mine from Boots online and soon it was mine.

There is a choice of two scents I will say, technically you could say shades but they don't have any colour. One is Honey scented and this one I have is Raspberry scented. As I said there is no colour to either of them although it does look like this particular one might have, it doesn't. When I ordered this one, the Honey one was already out of stock so I didn't really have a choice but I definitely would have picked this one anyway so I'm really happy.

I've mentioned in previous posts that my lips have been so dry recently so I thought this would be the perfect product to help sort them out for good. It's a pretty pricey product at £18 but in my eyes it's definitely worth it. the applicator is slightly larger than your normal lip product applicator which I love. It means you can cover the top and bottom lip in one swipe on each, meaning easy application. It doesn't feel sticky on the lips and I believe it instantly moisturises the lips. The lasting power of this product is incredible, it lasts so much longer than your standard lip balm. The scent isn't strong on this product, obviously you can smell it but it's very light which is perfect.

Overall this is an amazing product and 100% worth the pricey price tag in my opinion. I now always opt for this over than my normal lip balm, although I do find this a luxurious product so sometimes will try and save this which is difficult as I love it so much. If you haven't already, then definitely go and get your hands on this product, it's available from many different online stores :-)

Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Lipstick

When these first released I instantly had my eye on them and knew I wanted to pick one up. I love the previous Kate Moss lipstick range for Rimmel so I had high hopes for this one as well. I'm also a sucker for nude lipsticks as I much prefer to wear them day to day as opposed to a colour. Basically I'm not one to venture away from a nude lipstick, they are just my favourite.

I picked up the shade 42 although this was a very hard decision and I definitely could of picked up a couple of the other shades but I restricted myself. The packaging is basically the same as her other range but instead of red it's a nude colour and still has Kate Moss' signature on. I actually like the simplistic look of these lipsticks.

This shade is a perfect nude colour for me and has pink undertones to it, I apologise for the last photo as the colour of the lipstick seems funny as I actually have tanned skin! But I love the colour and it is just the perfect lipstick for everyday which is what I love. The formula is super lovely, hydrating and pigmented. These lipsticks glide on so easily that they are a dream to apply. There's no stickiness or tackiness after application and they just leave my lips feeling smooth. I just apply a small amount of lip balm before applying the lipstick, simply due to suffering from dry lips a lot of the time.

Overall I am in love with this lipstick and probably won't be able to resist picking up another shade in the near future. Let me know your thoughts on this lipstick range if you've tried a shade and also what shade you would recommend for me to pick up next :-)

Tanya Burr lips & nails: Exotic Island & Penguin Chic

Feeling slightly sleepy already due to waking around 6:45am on a Saturday when I don't start work until this afternoon.. annoying or what! So having done most of the lazy things you tend to do on a weekend morning I thought I would now share a new post with you, one that I've been meaning to share for a very long time. The gorgeous Tanya Burr launched her own lip gloss and nail polish range a while back and I picked up one of each to test out.

When these first launched they were pretty darn hard to get hold of. I ordered mine from Feel Unique and due to the high demand delivery did take rather a long time. But I did finally get my hands on these and I'm super excited about both and love them both - bonus! There are such a wide range of both lip glosses and nail polishes including your bright bolds, hot pinks and neutrals. This made it super hard to decide which shades to choose from (all of which also have super cute names making it even harder). But in the end I opted for a bright lip gloss in Exotic Island and a neutral nail polish in Penguin Chic.

Firstly the lip gloss.. The colour is just oh my, so beautiful. I really was hoping this would be as pigmented and bold as it looks and I can tell you it definitely is. It glides on effortlessly, not sticking to any dry patches which I tend to suffer from. It's a lovely hot purple toned pink which I think is perfect for the coming summer months and nights out. As I said it's super pigmented meaning you can afford to just wear it on it's own but you've also got the option to put it over the top of lipstick maybe for a night out. The packaging is simple which I love and I have to tell you about the smell. These lip glosses just smell absolutely incredible, literally like strawberries and cream or something sweet! I'm never normally a huge lip gloss fan but this one has definitely won me over, it's not too tacky/sticky and gives the perfect amount of colour. All in all this is a great product and definitely worth the £6.99 price tag.

Next the nail polish, I picked up the shade Penguin Chic which is a gorgeous brown/purple/grey, nice and neutral for everyday/every season wear. The formula is lovely, I would recommend more than one coat to achieve the super glossy look which I love. These are easy to apply and dry relatively quickly. They do leave your nails looking nice and glossy although I also apply a top coat to prolong the wear. I absolutely love the packaging again, very chic and simplistic which I think makes the product look a lot more up market. At only £5.99 these nail polishes are affordable and worth it. Again the colour range includes all of the must have colours for each different season which is perfect.

Overall I definitely recommend getting yours hand on either a lip gloss or nail varnish or even both if you feel like splashing out. They're both amazing quality for the prices you pay and in my eyes worth it. Tanya Burr's collection is now available in Superdrug which is a lot easier and means you can really see what all the shades are like. So pop down to your local and see what takes your fancy (also give the lip glosses a whiff!) Enjoy your weekend :-)

Maybelline Baby Lips - Pink Punch, Peach Kiss, Cherry Me

Who doesn't love a lip balm? I know I'm a bit late to put up this post but it just seemed that this was the product everyone was reviewing and I just wanted it to die down a little before I put mine up! Now if you've been hiding under a rock for the past, god knows how long, then you will not know about the infamous Maybelline Baby Lips. But honestly even if you have been hiding then you probably still would have heard about them, that's how insane the launch in the UK was. Personally I was very excited for these to arrive in the UK and took to the Boots website the day they launched and ordered myself three as they were on a 3 for 2 offer. Also because I ordered before a 2pm that day it meant I was able to collect the very next day which I thought was very impressive delivery.

There are six in total, 3 of which I ordered as I said. The three I purchased were; Pink Punch, Peach Kiss and Cherry Me. First off the packaging, to be honest I know it's nothing special but I rather like it. It's a plastic, brightly coloured tube and the lid again has brightly coloured wording which really stands out. One of which, either the writing or tube colour, match the actual colour of the product inside (on the tinted balms anyway) which is a small but nice concept.

I picked up the three which are meant to be the tinted ones which is definitely what I was most excited about. They are only tinted lip balms so they're not going to give you a full coverage on the lips but they definitely do leave a lovely sheer colour to the lips. I definitely prefer Cherry Me and Pink Punch for the best colour pay off and I personally don't feel that Peach Kiss leaves me with any colour on the lips. You can see from the swatches on my hand that they are not fully pigmented but absolutely do have some colour pay off to them. This seems to come off more so on the hand than the lips but saying that I do love the colour left on the lips. I also apologise for the fact that I have no pictures of me wearing any of these products, I honestly did try but none of the pictures came out at all home I wanted them and I didn't think they did this product any justice so unfortunately I didn't include them.

I believe these claim 8 hours of hydration on the lips which I definitely don't agree with but they are very moisturising and do leave my lips feeling really soft. But they honestly do not last that long. They really are a great lip balm and lots of fun but aren't lips balms one of those products that so many people are addicted to buying and barely ever finish one? Well I am anyway, ha ha, so I don't feel like I'll ever actually finish one but let's hope. Another fun thing about these lip balms is the scent, the Cherry Me one smells lovely! Since purchasing one of these is always in my handbag for simple and quick application with a slick of colour.

Maybelline products are still 3 for 2 at Boots so if you are still yet to try these then I definitely recommend them and I would love to try the non tinted hydrate ones from Baby Lips. I'd love to know your thoughts on these and what you think of the Hydrate balms if you've tried them! :-)

MUA Lipstick Shade 2

Where has the sun gone? It's a completely dreary day out there and windy (I hate wind!) It seems to have gone from one extreme to the other, and typical UK people here I am talking about the weather. So I'm going to brighten up the day with this gorgeous lipstick shade, what better way to do it hey?

Let me just get this out there.. I have never really been a lipstick kinda girl. Breathe. I took to asking a load of bloggers in the blogger chat on Twitter a few weeks back how you decide which colours to go for and which high street brands do the best lipsticks. I had a reply from a lovely girl saying that she opted for MUA lipsticks due to the price to then decide which colours suited her best so if she wasn't keen on one she hasn't wasted any money, well £1. I thought this was a brilliant idea as a starter point for myself so I took to my local Superdrug MUA counter and found myself purchasing this one which is Shade 2.

As every blogger would agree I came out with a hand full of swatches from different lipsticks but found myself loving this one the best. I have at the moment only purchased this one colour (I was being naughty as I am trying not to spend any money - woops!) Anyway I picked up shade 2 which is a lovely magenta colour and if you don't already know then MUA lipsticks are only £1, yes you heard correctly. You cannot really go too far wrong when only paying £1 for a lipstick and I was surprisingly impressed! I am absolutely loving the shade of this lipstick on me, I find the colour really buildable as well which is nice if you're wanting to go for a more dramatic, night time look. I prefer more of the subtle look as I'm still getting used to looking at myself in the mirror with lipstick on!

The lasting power of this lipstick isn't great but I really cannot complain due to the price tag, it's so easy to just chuck in your handbag and reapply when needed, so who's moaning? I am definitely (when payday comes, no spending here) going to be picking up more shades from the MUA range simply to hopefully find more shades which I love.
