Avene thermal spring water

It's another one of those humid and muggy days in the UK and working through one of these days can be pretty darn testing. Running around after children in the heat isn't the most pleasant, although I do get to be out in the sunshine when it's out, compromises. So if you live in the UK then you'll know recently we've been having some pretty warm weather so I'm sharing this Avene product with you today to help you through!

I purchased this a while back from the Escentual website, if you read my blog I'm sure you'll know about it, if you don't then it's a great website to grab all of your french pharmacy items if you don't live there of course. I believe this product has been raved about by pretty much everybody in the blogger world especially over the summer months. I mean it is what it says on the tin, it's a thermal spring water. Translation: when you're hot spray it on your face. It also has many other purposes such as; soothing sun burn, nappy rash, to set make up, skin cleansing and just generally in summer. It's great for sensitive skin types which I have and it works beautifully.

This is definitely a summer staple product. Myself I've only so far used it for cooling down and have tried it for setting my make up which I'm not completely convinced on. It's a nice product to spray on your face in the morning after applying your make up but I wouldn't say that it really helps prolong make up wear, especially not when it's sweltering hot. But it is brilliant at cooling you down and you can spray it where you like! (there are some restrictions however naughty). This is also a super cheap and affordable product too and if you don't find yourself on the Escentual website you can also purchase from Boots or Feel Unique. There are also a range of different sizes you can buy - this one being the smallest just so I could try it out but also great for traveling.

Overall this is perfect for the summer months and I'll definitely be taking this product away with me on holiday in September to cool me down! Who'd have thought we need a cooling product in the UK? ;-) Happy Tuesday!

Escentual pharmacy haul #2

I do love ordering from Escentual, it really is just hassle free online shopping and they always seem to have some kind of offer on which is obviously great. I ordered these few bits a couple of weeks back now simple because I have always wanted to try the Vichy Dermablend collection and it was on offer so I couldn't resist.

So the first two bits I picked up and the main reason for this order was the Vichy Dermablend concealer and the fluid corrective foundation both in the shade 15 Opal. As I was ordering these online I was slightly weary of the colours I had chosen but actually they are the right shade for me since trying them out which I'm super pleased with. These products are aimed to cover, well basically everything. And being someone who suffers from blemishes I thought these would be great products to try out. I have been using them since and I'm still not completely sold on them but I will be doing a full review on them shortly so keep your eyes peeled for that. I'm unsure of the prices I paid for these I think the concealer was around £10 and the foundation around £11 with the discount so pretty good prices too.

Next I picked up the Avene Thermal Spring Water which I believe to be pretty popular among beauty bloggers. So I thought I would just pick up the small size to try it out and see what I think. This was super duper cheap as it was also discounted as I've said so I believe it was around £2 which is basically next to nothing. This spray is designed to do loads of different things from a simple refresh to setting your make up. I'm actually rather liking this so far but again a in depth review will be up soon.

And that's it, my short but hopefully sweet Escentual haul. I would definitely recommend browsing their website as they stock loads of great products. I hope you enjoyed this small haul and are having a nice weekend :-)

Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm

I love having time to write a mid week post on my blog! It's been too long. But when I say 'having time' I basically mean I'm procrastinating as I have soo much uni work that I should be doing right now other than writing this but hey ho off we go!

In my Escentual french pharmacy haul I picked up this product, the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm which everybody raves about and for the past few months my lips have been suffering so I needed to try something new. I believe this was around £9 which is pretty steep for a lip balm but so far this product is absolutely amazing. It's also made out of natural ingredients which makes it smell gorgeous and leaves your lips feeling super nourished.

"When lips are dry and are in need of some intensive nourishment, this rich and restorative balm with restore suppleness."

Since purchasing this product I've honestly been using it everyday since! It's quite a thick consistency which is what I currently need but it's not too thick to applying throughout the day as well. I really like applying this just before I go to bed and in the morning my lips feel super soft and lovely. It really does help sort out my dry lips as they can get really sore but after applying this it instantly helps. It stops the soreness and keeps them nourished. The smell as well is amazing, it smells like honey. There's only so much you can say about a lip balm but like I said this ones by far my favourite go to now and I definitely recommend it!

It honestly is now my cult go to lip product, topping all the rest! I'd love to know if you've tried this product and your thoughts on it?! You can buy it from many online places such as Escentual and Feel Unique :-)

Escentual (French Pharmacy) haul

Recently I discovered this lovely website called 'Escentual'. I'm sure many of you may have heard of this site before but if you haven't then it's basically lots of French pharmacy items which obviously we can't get hold of in the UK! They have great deals on at the moment too on their french pharmacy items and it's free delivery if you spend over £30 which is a great deal.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel Honey Lip Balm £6.33

I've heard so many good things about this lip balm and I seem to be suffering with some super dry lips recently. This is a super thick lip balm and feels super nourishing on the lips. It lasts for a great amount of time and I'm excited to keep using it! It's obviously slightly more expensive than your usual lip balm but it's definitely worth it and ten times better than my Dr.Lipp nipple balm.

Vichy Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care £9

Anything with the words 'anti-imperfection' catches my eye and again this is a brand I've heard lots about but never actually tried myself. This is aimed to care for your oily and imperfection prone skin, keeping it hydrated all day. I love the packaging of this, I like pumps they make things much simpler. I haven't used this too much but it is very hydrating and has a pleasant smell to it.

La Roche Posay Effaclar AI £7

Now I love the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ so I thought I would branch out into the brand and try something different. This is also help target blemishes and they say it's a precision breakout corrector. Another plus is that this is paraben free so there's no nasties in their which is always a good thing. I haven't tried this enough yet to give anything away but I'll let you know how I get on.

Klorane Nettle Shampoo £4.50

This shampoo is aimed at oily hair and said to give your scalp a bit of a detox. It's also meant to give you more time between washes which is something I would love. Having to wash my hair every other day can sometimes become a bit of a chore. I've only used this once so far and I did enjoy it but cannot give a full review just yet.

Klorane Mango Conditioner £4.87

I simply purchased this conditioner as it was suggested that with the nettle shampoo. This is aimed to protect, nourish and detangle your dry hair and this seriously smells amazing. Detangling and dry ends is what my hair suffers from so I had high hopes for this. Again I have only used once so a full review along with the shampoo will come soon I'm sure.

I would definitely recommend shopping on Escentual's website, they have great offers - currently 1/3 off French pharmacy items which is a great discount! The delivery was really fast and efficient also which was great. Let me know if you've shopped with Escentual before or if you've tried any of the products I purchased :-)

Paris beauty haul

So another belated post as it seems forever ago since I went to Paris and since my 21st birthday, but finally I'm showing you the beauty bits and bobs that I purchased whilst I was in Paris. Now as you can tell I didn't go wild, I was a silly beauty blogger and didn't find out about any French skin care or make up brands before going out so when looking and it all being in French I didn't have a clue what they were. I knew there were definitely a couple of things I hand my eye on but another thing is that the Euro to pound conversion is practically the same, so things out there weren't any cheaper.

The first place I obviously made my mum stop was Sephora. I've never been into one before and there was one literally about a minutes walk away from our hotel = bonus. So there were a couple of trips made there. The first two things I bought were from Smashbox which you can obviously get in the UK. First I got the Blemish Control primer which I've had my eye on for a while! The lady in the shop actually took my make up off and used these two products and I fell in love with the finished look. The foundation is the Studio Skin Hydrating foundation in the colour 1.1. These two products work really well together and so far am enjoying using them.

Next was my 21st birthday splurge. I've never spent so much money on a lipstick before but just look at it simply. It's so god darn beautiful. I actually purchased this at the airport on the way home as it worked out cheaper than it did at Sephora or even back in the UK obviously so ended up being just under £20 I believe. It's the Volupte Sheer Candy from YSL in shade 6. It's the most wearable red ever, you can simply apply one layer for a sheer but noticeable red lip or you can really build it up for a more intense red lip. So far I'm loving it!

And finally the cult French pharmacy buy which I just had to have really. I know there are now a few UK brand versions of the Bioderma but I needed to try the original for myself! I actually got the combination/oily skin type one which I actually didn't know existed until I was out there. It's obviously brilliant at taking your make up off and again I've really enjoyed using it. They come in different sizes etc so I just went for the one in the middle which is 250ml, but this can also be purchased from online now and delivered to the UK from certain websites.

Overall so far I'm loving everything I purchased in Paris which is a bonus and doesn't always happen! I hope you enjoyed this small Paris haul and let me know if you've tried any of these products :-)
