Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Fake Tan

I'm never Summer ready and it always seems to creep up on me; however with the UK weather being so unpredictable I feel this doesn't help my situation. I've got quite a few self/fake tans stored away in my stash but I really wanted something different to test out. I recently watched Anna Saccone's video all about her fake tan routine and that's what made me go and and purchase this particular product.

When I purchased this around a month ago now it was on offer at Boots for around £5/6, which I thought was a great price. I picked up the light/medium shade and I believe it also comes in medium/dark. I basically followed Anna's routine she spoke about in her YouTube video and went along with it; however I definitely need to work on tanning my own back, I had some funny positions going on.

So when using this product I simply just had a good scrub/exfoliate before applying it, focusing on my elbows, knees, ankles and wrists. I then used a mitt to apply the tan basically all over my body. The product is white which can make it slightly more difficult to figure out where you've been but I did find that you can obviously feel the product going on so its not that bad. The product applied really easily and didn't take very long to sink into my skin, however just to make sure it was all sunk in I did wait around 10 minutes before putting any clothing back on. There's a slight smell to the product but it's not very strong and to be honest I actually quite like it.

In the morning I can definitely see a difference in my skin colour and it's a subtle glow which just makes my skin look much healthier. If I want to apply this product more than once to get a richer colour then it still works really well and the colour still looks great and natural. I definitely wouldn't apply this every day, as I don't need it but I did apply this 3 days in a row and then just topped up when I felt I needed it.

Basically this is just an all round great product and my current, new favourite fake tan. I didn't have any streaks or patches either which is such a bonus especially as I have quite dry areas on my skin which exfoliating really helps with. I would definitely recommend this fake tan if you're currently looking for a new one now or in the future. It's really affordable, even when not on offer, and definitely worth it!

Toyshades Zephyr Aviator Sunglasses

You can buy them online here

I've been currently lusting over the Ray Ban Round Metal sunglasses but I simply cannot invest the money in them, not when I'm supposed to be saving to move out, no matter how pretty they are. I've been looking at them for quite some time but when Asos recently had a mid season sale, I couldn't help but have a browse. I wasn't actually looking for sunglasses but I came across these ones from Toyshades. I had never heard of the brand before but they were in the sale for £7 and they really caught my eye. They caught my eye for the simple fact that they looked the same shape as the Ray Ban ones that I've been after but at a fraction of the price.

I then couldn't help but purchase these sunglasses before they went out of stock and they then arrived on my door step the next day. Now obviously these aren't quite as good quality as Ray Bans but they are actually pretty good. They were originally £20 before going into the sale so that's a pretty decent price for a pair of high street sunglasses. These are super comfy when wearing, it honestly feels like I'm not wearing sunglasses which is a bonus. I love the brown colour as they simply go with any outfit.

I'm really pleased I purchased these sunglasses, I have left the link above if you want to check them out. I would definitely recommend them if you're like me and simply cannot part with the money for a pair of Ray Bans. They are the perfect dupe!! Now I just need some more sunshine in the UK to be able to wear them...

Mark Hill Protection Spray & Anti Humidity Spray

If you didn't already know, I'll rub it in and just mention that I've just returned from my second summer holiday in Kos, Greece. Now being by the pool and beach all day calls for some saviour hair care items and before I went on holiday I found there products with hope that they would help me out.

The weather in Kos was really very hot therefore not only did I prepare my skin, obviously, I wanted to protect my hair too. That's where the protection spray comes in handy. It's in a super handy travel sized bottle and is just the easiest product to apply ever. You simply just had to spray it over your hair where you think you needed to "protect". So every morning I would just spray this mainly around my scalp and on the ends of my hair. Not only does this product to claim to protect your hair from the heat but also aims to protect the colour of your hair too. I loved using this product everyday, it smells fresh but it doesn't linger. It sunk into my hair super quickly and really did seem to protect my hair. The ends of my hair can become very dry and I really think this product locked the moisture in and protected it.

Next the humidity spray which helped me out more in the evenings. With the hot weather obviously, my hair turned against me slightly and became slightly frizzy after washing it. I found that when it was dry I could spray this lightly onto my hair, have a fiddle and a ruffle with it and voila. It kind of gave my hair a bit of texture to play around with too which I liked. I did find that if I used too much of this product it could make my hair look slightly greasy, so I just made sure that I applied it lightly. It kept my frizz at bay for the evenings whilst on holiday so I can only thank this product for doing exactly as it says on the tin!

Overall I'm really impressed with this range from Mark Hill and will definitely be using them again on my holidays in the future. I'd never heard of it until I purchased them and I'm so glad I did. It's nice to buy something with no background opinions and love them and that's exactly what these were for me. If you're heading on your holidays, I would definitely recommend these :-)

Time For A Break

Image sourced from Pinterest

It's that time of year again, uni is done and dusted for another year at least. It's been a long time coming although the last couple of months moved very fast. It was a hard second year at university and although I cannot say I enjoyed the work load aspect, it's the friends I've made who got me through. I can only anticipate what next year is going to bring but the thought that it will be my very last year of studying, although scary, is very exciting. It feels weird to know that next year I will be fully qualified and finished studying university forever.

Although over the summer I will be very busy with work, I'm actually looking forward to it. Not putting anything into university work therefore putting everything into my job. It feels great to be able to do that and just simply having a break from crazy essay writing. I know next year at university is going to be twice as busy as the past two years were and the thought of that is pretty nerve-racking. Hopefully in some way I can start preparing myself slightly earlier... somehow... maybe!

The thought of having to write a 10,000 word dissertation is crazy. Thinking about what to write for all those words terrifies me if I'm honest. I have an idea about what area I want to write about but nothing set in stone yet so that may be the one thing I think about over my time off from university. If you have ever written a dissertation, and are reading this, then any tips are welcome this way.

Anyway this was just a short post to talk about my current lifestyle, university and being free for summer which I'm sure many of you are in the same situation. Yay, go us! I am looking forward to the next couple of months, uni work free and can only put my all back into uni work come September. If any of you have any tips about third year at university then they would be very much appreciated. I mean just the word dissertation freaks me out enough as I've said!

My Summer nail varnish favourites 2014

A slightly miserable day to be sharing these gorgeous nail varnishes but hopefully they will brighten the weather up ever so slightly. Today is also one of those days where I'm practically doing nothing and being lazy. Although I'm praying for it not to rain so we can have a bbq with the family later. I thought I would share my top summer favourite nail varnishes with you. All be it rather late as it's supposedly already summer here in the UK but hey ho, better late than never.

Rimmel Salon Pro in 317 Hip-Hop

This formula of nail varnish is one of my all time favourites. It's from the Kate Moss range and they are just one of the easiest to apply and they really do last a good amount of time. This shade is the perfect coral for summer, nice and bright. I'm not a huge fan of pastel coral so this colour is right up my street.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Lychee

I love a nude nail varnish all year round but this one is perfect for the summer months. It's a nice and fresh looking nude and again this formula from Barry M Gelly range is lovely. Super glossy and easy application makes them lovely. The other colours in this range are also lovely as there are now so many to choose from. A nude is always a winner with me as whatever outfit you pair with it, it will always go!

OPI Nicki Minaj collection in Did It On 'Em

This is a firm all time favourite nail varnish of mine, I just am in love with the colour! It's a gorgeous yellow/lime and absolutely amazing in the summer. This colour does look great when you have a tan but seeing as there's no getaway for me this summer it does also look great without too, so don't worry! OPI as I'm sure we all know are amazing nail varnishes, yes they come with quite a large price tag but they do feel super luxurious.

Essie in Madison Avehue

Essie have the best colour range possible, I swear every colour is just super pretty, and this one is no exception. It has tiny flecks of glitter in which just make this nail polish that extra bit girly. It's the perfect combo between pink and purple and just the prettiest colour. Again you can't really fault Essie's formula, they are simply just amazing.

Rimmel Lycra Pro in 500 Peppermint

You can't not include a gorgeous mint in a summer nail varnish post hey. This one is the perfect mint colour, again something that would look great with (or without in my case) a tan. Rimmel do amazing nail varnishes and this one again I cannot fault. The lasting power is amazing, I have a feeling it's something to do with this lycra in them? I'm not sure but it must do super things to their nail varnishes. I own many of this collection and love everyone of them!

And that is it! My favourite summer nail varnishes for this "current" summer. I hope you enjoyed this slightly different post today and it has given you some inspiration of what colours to pop on your nails when the sun is shining :-)

The Maxi Skirt OOTD

Skirt - Monsoon
Boob tube - Primark
Watch - Michael Kors

Apparently today is the hottest day of the year so far, to be honest I'm not feeling it simply due to the amount of clouds that are in the sky making it overcast and not sunny! Which I'm not a fan of but hey it's typical for us to moan whatever the weather so I'm just sticking to that rule. The weather also always makes it hard to know what to wear..

I opted for my new (and very first) maxi skirt. I've always loved the maxi skirt/dress look but I can hold my hands up and say that I have never bought either, shock horror! I'm quite tall for a girl and have always worried about looking like "I've shrunk my maxi in the wash" look, basically it being too short for my height. But after trying a couple on at work the other day I took the plunge and purchased this lovely jersey one. This one is the perfect length for me whilst wearing it high waisted so it was pretty much instantly sold! It sits just above the ground so there's no dragging it along the floor look either, bonus. Honestly after trying on this one it was hard to stray away from it.

It's a very simple striped style, navy and white, which then ends up at the bottom with a slight aztec pattern which I love. The stripes vary in width which makes the skirt that bit more interesting and even more so when you reach the pattern along the bottom. Due to it's jersey material it makes it super comfortable as well and definitely not restricted.

Also being someone who's not a massive fan of their legs it's a nice alternative to trousers and still gives you that cover up you're after whilst still being able to show you're figure around the waist/hip area. I have teamed this with a cropped boob tube, again not a huge fan of my stomach but the fact that you only show a tiny amount then it doesn't completely phase me. If you do not wish to do this then I would alternatively wear this with a baggy t-shirt or vest tucked in so you still get that definition of figure around your waist.

Now I'm convinced that whatever shape or height you are, you can find the right maxi skirt for you! And I honestly think these would suit any shape when styled in the correct way. If you're like me and nearly giving up then don't! I think this is going to be one of my summer staples :)

How do you style your maxi's? I'd love to know, leave your links to outfits below! xo

Wishing the summer would come

After an evening full of reading haul posts and also watching them on YouTube, I have yet again come up with a completely full wish list of new wants added to my ever growing list. I don't think I'll ever get this list down to zero, but I can keep dreaming. Although it does sometimes keep me going at work, I'm a planner so when it comes to payday I tend to plan exactly what I'm going to treat myself too, along with a little bit of saving on the side. (Just now realising the bits and pieces I've picked above colour match well..) With it not being too long until the next payday already then I'm kinda hoping I can tick most of these beauties off my list.

The title of this post is way too true, what is wrong with the UK weather right now? Although I'm hearing promising things about tomorrows weather and it's my day off, yay! But first things first I'm going to have my mullet coloured and chopped, bye bye roots. Then I have a dentist appointment, and yes I freely admit it, I'm scared. Usually mine and my mum's appointments are at the same time but I had to change mine so I'm going it alone.. wish me luck! But hopefully once I've ticked these items off my list I may actually be able to wear them in the 'British summer'.

Also on the topic of shopping, after being ill for a few days last week and having to call in sick at work it left me placing online orders from both Topshop and H&M, woops. But I did manage to find the shoes from Topshop that I'd been wanting for ages in my size and some absolute bargains from the H&M sale. I do find H&M delivery takes an awful long time so my patience is going to be tested with these parcels, does anyone else think this?

Anyway this is a rather rambly post but I just wanted to share with you my latest summer finds and fingers crossed the weather comes to stay soon! I'd love to know your latest wants and new finds? :-)

Accessorize collar necklace

For a long while now I've always been a fan of Accessorize's jewellery, you may call me biased as I am currently working there but personally love the variety of pieces. The new spring summer collection, that is pretty much now all in, incorporates all the bright neon colours, pretty floral and statement necklaces that are all perfect for the new season. I honestly think you'd be able to find a necklace, or other piece of jewellery, to suit any outfit for the coming summer months.

I find chunky collar necklaces the perfect way to jazz up a so called "boring" outfit. I have teamed this collar with a plain white tee (from Primark) and love the look. It's so effortless but the necklace makes all the statement it needs. I'm not going to lie, when this collar came into the store I work within, I hated it. Then more and more started coming in and this one kept catching my eye so I gave in and purchased it as a payday treat. I love the colour combination including the pearlescent flowers which glisten different colours in the light. Once added to a boring outfit it totally changes the look and makes it much more interesting!

Have you purchased any new jewellery from Accessorize lately?
