Hair favourites

I thought this post would follow on quite nicely from my previous one, reviewing the Babyliss air styler, so I thought I would share my two current hair staples. I’m sure I’m not the only one when I say that during lockdown I haven’t been making the most effort with my fashion choices or beauty regime. However, there are a couple of products that I’ve continued to use throughout and I will be sharing these with you. So I thought I would star with hair care products today.

First is the Schwarzkopf got2be detangling spray which I purchased from Boots a couple of months ago. Now I am always after a detangling spray simply because my hair is so thick, it just gets so tangled. I often find it hard to locate a detangling spray, there never seems to be many out there, so when I saw this one I snapped it up. I simply spray this on damp hair and then use my tangle teezer to work all of the knots out of my hair, and it works a treat! This product is super affordable and usually hair brands, like this one, can be found on offer. Definitely a product I use every time I wash my hair therefore a firm staple for me.

Secondly is this Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo in Bloom from Sainsbury’s. Firstly I must say this smells incredible! Not floral, as the name would suggest, just fresh and super lovely. Not only does this smell amazing, it does a great job at putting washing your hair off for that extra day. It leaves a little bit of white residue but it easily massages into the hair, and then you’re ready to go. This product is super affordable and I believe I only paid a bargain £1.50 for it! If you’re looking at trying a new dry shampoo or your current one is nearing the end, I highly recommend giving this one a whirl.

Schwarzkopf got2be Mind Blowing Styling Spray

Hello 2016 and my first post of the year! I know a lot of people have probably said this but 2015 went so quickly, I cannot believe it's over already! But here's to 2016 a whole new year of blogging and hopefully fulfilling some of the pointers I highlighted in my previous 2016 blog post. For those of you wondering or who read my previous post, I ordered a new camera and it's being delivered tomorrow! I really hope I love it and I cannot wait to try it out, I will probably write a post all about it soon.

Onto the first review of the year.. I picked this product up from Boots as they had a 3 for 2 offer on all hair care items. I hadn't seen this product before and had also recently been using the Redken version, which I reviewed here. That's basically what attracted me to this product as the Redken one is much more expensive and although I enjoyed it, I went through it rather quickly so it would be expensive to keep repurchasing. When I saw this offering from Schwarzkopf I couldn't resist picking it up, I believe the price of this one was around £3-4. The one main difference between the two is that the Redken one says to apply to towel dried hair whereas this Schwarzkopf one you can apply to wet hair. I much prefer that as it kind of defeats the object not being able to apply on wet hair as you are wanting to dry it quickly!

The aim of the product is to cut the time spent blow drying your hair, which in my case is a very long time. I really do not enjoy blow drying my hair because within minutes my arms ache and to fully dry it, it can take no less than 15 minutes usually. I've been using this product after every hair wash, spraying it quite liberally all over my hair. I then give my hair a quick brush and start blow drying. I have noticed that this product really does help cut the time I spend drying my hair. It doesn't leave my hair feeling crispy where I've sprayed it and it leaves my hair feeling soft. This product also has heat protection within it so there's no need to apply a heat protector on top.

Overall I would definitely repurchase this product over the Redken offering, simply because of the price and the fact that they practically do the same thing! If you're like me and spend so much time drying your hair then I would recommend looking into this affordable product :-)

Cannot Stop Haulin'

When Boots have so many offers on pretty much all their products, I find it way too hard to resist picking something up. In this case it was 3 for 2 on hair care and skin care so in true beauty blogger style I did one 3 for 2 in each, of course I could have done more. I also had a voucher to spend so it made this haul a little bit better for me.

Lets first start with the hair care items and I picked up the Batiste Smooth It Frizz Tamer which is part of their new style range. I picked this up because on those "can't be bothered hair days" when I literally don't do anything to my hair, I can find that the top layer of my hair can become a little bit wild. So I like a product to help tame it and keep it a little bit more sleek. Next I picked up the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Luscious Long Deep Treatment which I have actually had before and I've gone back to it, clearly. I don't know why I haven't purchased it earlier, I believe I thought it was a lot more expensive than it actually is. It's only £4.99 and I loved using my last one of these so couldn't help but buy it again. It leaves my long hair, smooth and the damaged ends actually feel soft. Finally, hair care wise, I picked up the Schwarzkopf got2be Mind Blowing Styling Spray. This is a product which aims to cut down your blow drying time and this reminded me of my Redken version of this product. This one is a fraction of the price of the Redken one so I thought I would pick it up so I can contrast the two.

Onto skin care I picked up my beloved Clearasil Ultra 5in1 Cleansing Pads which again is a product I've had many times before. These are pads which you wipe over your face morning and evening which help with blemishes. Next is the Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser which is something that I've wanted to try for a while. Since not being off holiday long I thought this would be perfect for moisturising to keep my tan but doing so whilst in the shower. I find moisturising a bit of a chore so I'm excited to see if this works. Finally I picked up the Eucerin Intensive Lip Balm as recently I've been having really sore, chapped lips. I thought I would pick up a lip balm which is, hopefully, a little more intense and hopefully will cure my dry lips.
