Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade

Yet again here I am pretty late on this beauty bandwagon, but better late than never hey. If you haven't already noticed then I'm talking about the Revlon Lip Butters. I had been humming and haring about these products for a long time until I decided to take the plunge recently when Boots had a 3 for 2 on make up offer. Also if you didn't already know then I'm pretty new to the whole lipstick thing and am slowly but surely adding to my collection.

This was actually one of my very first lipstick purchases so colour wise I was being very cautious. I picked up the shade called 'Pink Lemonade' which is a very subtle light pink and for my first lippy I was after a subtle colour so this one ticked that box. Obviously like everybody else the massive rave about these products is huge, the fact that they're so moisturising, nourishing and pigmented are just a few of the main reasons.

There are also so many shades to choose from so I was stood in front of the Revlon counter for some considerate amount of time. This also means when I go back for another shade I'm sure I'll be stuck for choice! This is the kind of lipstick I'd go for on those 'no make up' make up days or when I'm not feeling like a bright lip colour. There are obviously many more pigmented and bold shades within this range and I think I will definitely be picking from a more bold shade next time!

One of the main things I love about this product is the fact that it's just like a pigmented colour lip balm. So for someone who was pretty scared at first of putting lipstick on this was the perfect option to ease it on. I am also very drawn to the packaging, it's so chic and elegant! I love the simple quilted lid but it adds so much to the product and also matches the colour of the lipstick inside which I think is a nice touch.

Overall I do love this product although I think I would definitely go for a bolder colour next time and there will be a next time, ha! I would love to know if you've tried a lip butter and what shades are your favourites? Leave me a comment and let me know which one I should go for next :-)

The Maxi Skirt OOTD

Skirt - Monsoon
Boob tube - Primark
Watch - Michael Kors

Apparently today is the hottest day of the year so far, to be honest I'm not feeling it simply due to the amount of clouds that are in the sky making it overcast and not sunny! Which I'm not a fan of but hey it's typical for us to moan whatever the weather so I'm just sticking to that rule. The weather also always makes it hard to know what to wear..

I opted for my new (and very first) maxi skirt. I've always loved the maxi skirt/dress look but I can hold my hands up and say that I have never bought either, shock horror! I'm quite tall for a girl and have always worried about looking like "I've shrunk my maxi in the wash" look, basically it being too short for my height. But after trying a couple on at work the other day I took the plunge and purchased this lovely jersey one. This one is the perfect length for me whilst wearing it high waisted so it was pretty much instantly sold! It sits just above the ground so there's no dragging it along the floor look either, bonus. Honestly after trying on this one it was hard to stray away from it.

It's a very simple striped style, navy and white, which then ends up at the bottom with a slight aztec pattern which I love. The stripes vary in width which makes the skirt that bit more interesting and even more so when you reach the pattern along the bottom. Due to it's jersey material it makes it super comfortable as well and definitely not restricted.

Also being someone who's not a massive fan of their legs it's a nice alternative to trousers and still gives you that cover up you're after whilst still being able to show you're figure around the waist/hip area. I have teamed this with a cropped boob tube, again not a huge fan of my stomach but the fact that you only show a tiny amount then it doesn't completely phase me. If you do not wish to do this then I would alternatively wear this with a baggy t-shirt or vest tucked in so you still get that definition of figure around your waist.

Now I'm convinced that whatever shape or height you are, you can find the right maxi skirt for you! And I honestly think these would suit any shape when styled in the correct way. If you're like me and nearly giving up then don't! I think this is going to be one of my summer staples :)

How do you style your maxi's? I'd love to know, leave your links to outfits below! xo

Wishing the summer would come

After an evening full of reading haul posts and also watching them on YouTube, I have yet again come up with a completely full wish list of new wants added to my ever growing list. I don't think I'll ever get this list down to zero, but I can keep dreaming. Although it does sometimes keep me going at work, I'm a planner so when it comes to payday I tend to plan exactly what I'm going to treat myself too, along with a little bit of saving on the side. (Just now realising the bits and pieces I've picked above colour match well..) With it not being too long until the next payday already then I'm kinda hoping I can tick most of these beauties off my list.

The title of this post is way too true, what is wrong with the UK weather right now? Although I'm hearing promising things about tomorrows weather and it's my day off, yay! But first things first I'm going to have my mullet coloured and chopped, bye bye roots. Then I have a dentist appointment, and yes I freely admit it, I'm scared. Usually mine and my mum's appointments are at the same time but I had to change mine so I'm going it alone.. wish me luck! But hopefully once I've ticked these items off my list I may actually be able to wear them in the 'British summer'.

Also on the topic of shopping, after being ill for a few days last week and having to call in sick at work it left me placing online orders from both Topshop and H&M, woops. But I did manage to find the shoes from Topshop that I'd been wanting for ages in my size and some absolute bargains from the H&M sale. I do find H&M delivery takes an awful long time so my patience is going to be tested with these parcels, does anyone else think this?

Anyway this is a rather rambly post but I just wanted to share with you my latest summer finds and fingers crossed the weather comes to stay soon! I'd love to know your latest wants and new finds? :-)

Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo in On and on Bronze

If you read my blog often then you'll know I rather recently purchased my first ever eye shadow palette and that I'm not normally your typical eye shadow kinda girl. But since purchasing the palette I've definitely become more into using it on a daily basis. I know there was a big hype about this particular eye shadow so now since I've been using it more I thought I would expand my collection and what better way to start than with this beauty here.

Like I said I've heard so much about these from many a blogger and particularly went for this colour due to Estee from essiebutton as I'd seen it featured in a couple of her videos. Superdrug also recently had 3 for 2 across all make up so when this was on my wish list along with many other beauty items it wasn't hard to pick up 2 other items. I picked up this Maybelline color tattoo in 'On and on Bronze' which is a gorgeous metallic bronze colour which I love.

Since purchasing I've worn it nearly every day, apart from those lazy days we all have hey! It's so easy to apply and I cannot express that to you enough. It literally takes about 5 seconds and slides on super easy over your eye lid. It doesn't pull and gives an awesome coverage with barely any product. I simply just use my finger tip to apply this product and that's the easiest way I seem to have found and I think this way it gives me the coverage I'm after but also the finish, a smooth, sleek look.

It's a lovely cream eyeshadow and honestly does last all day. From the early morning and after a 9 hour day at work when I get home and take my make up off it's still in tact on my lids. It gives a nice neutral glisten to an everyday look and can definitely then go from daytime to nighttime with this eyeshadow. It also does come in a variety of different colours, some rather outrageous but that's just me sticking to what I know, but also some lovely neutrals and a lovely pinky one which I would love to try next :)

If you haven't tried these yet and are like me, just getting into eyeshadows, then these are perfect! 100% recommended and if you have tried them I'd love to know the shades you've tried and what you thought. Over and out xo

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots in Speckled Pink & Rain Forest Canopy

After the rather large hype of the L'Oreal Confetti top coat these beauties have now arrived on the shelves in the high street stores, Boots and Superdrug. As much as I always wanted to try the L'Oreal, I was never completely sold on it hence why it was never purchased. But as soon as these hit the shelves I went straight into my local Boots store.

When I popped into my local Boots on a lunch break only days after the launch there were only these two colour variations left. I wasn't disappointed I wanted the pink and the green just came with me also due to there being a buy one get one half price promo on Maybelline products at the time. This meant I got these two polishes for under £5, normally they are £2.99 each. The pink is called 'Speckled Pink' and the green 'Rain Forest Canopy'.

These are super duper easy to apply and although I did three coats in the pictures above you honestly could have stopped at two. It gives completely full coverage over the nail and it's not one of those nail varnishes which have the glitter bits in which you find yourself sat there for ages trying to actually get some of those bits onto your nail. The speckled parts, or polka dots, included in this nail varnish do not come out sparsely and I didn't have to do any scraping to try and get any onto the nail on the pictures above which I love about this product. You definitely get the right amount on the nail whilst still being able to see the colour included within the nail polish.

Another plus is the staying power of these polishes, usually when I paint my nails then go into work the next day they are ruined! But these seemed to last a good 3 to 4 days and even then it was only slight chipping, so I was really impressed with these. Considering the price I paid I wasn't expecting a lot from the wear but surprisingly I found it better than some of the higher end nail varnishes that I've tried.

There is one downfall to these products... the removal. At first I used my Bourjois 1 second nail varnish remover but when I pulled my finger out, the colour had removed fantastically but I was left with lovely black and white speckles all over my nail. These would literally not remove off my nails with this pot so I went to get a cotton pad and normal remover but they were still barely budging. I literally ha to scrape them off with rather a lot of force which I really didn't enjoy and it was rather time consuming.

Have you tried any of these nail polishes? I'd love to know your thoughts on them :)

Accessorize Lip Tint & Balm in Peachy Passion

What a beautiful evening it is and fingers crossed for the summer finally coming! Not that I want to jinx it at all or anything. And what better post could you get other than a gorgeous summery lipstick shade..

Working within retail can have its perks, one being that when new things arrive in store I'm one of the first to get my hands on them. When it was said that we were going to be getting a whole new range of make up in I was very excited. A few bits caught my eye but with me (trying) to slow down my spending I settled on just the one, being this lip tint and balm. There were 3 colours to choose from and after a lot of hard thinking I chose this orange/coral colour called 'Peachy Passion'.

I've used this many times now and am loving it so far. It's the perfect day to night lip tint simply because it's buildable. For me I like to have something a little more toned down for during the day like when I'm at work etc but for a night out applying more coats of this and building the colour up it completely changes. The pictures above of me wearing this is more of the day time look which I love. It's SO moisturising it's crazy I literally just want to keep rubbing my lips together! (haha, weird)

It also has a minty smell to it which is different but I actually really like it. Some lipsticks I've tried have that lipstick smell, if you know what I'm talking about, and I've never really been a big fan of it. So to have a change it rather nice. Another good thing about this product is the price, it retails at £5 (working in retail you also get the perks of staff discount) but it's definitely worth the price tag. It's also super easy to apply and doesn't pull at all due to it's moisturising texture. I love the pen like shape for application as I find it really easy to get into the parts which are sometimes more difficult!

I do have one small nag about this product and I'm not sure whether it's just my dry lips that need more loving from me! But I have found that the colour of this tint does tend to stick to the dryer parts of my bottom lip and make a not so attractive look. I have found to get rid of this I just apply another layer of the product, a touch of vaseline and voila! I can only think that it comes from the build up of the product and just needs spreading out so it's not stuck to the dryer parts of my lips.

Apart from the one small downside I highly recommend this product and to also check out the complete range of new Accessorize make up! I'd also love to know if you've tried one of these or anything new from the range? Happy Sunday xo
