Eucerin Dermo Purifyer Day & Night Care Moisturisers

A few weeks back I was having a bit of a splurge on Boots, mainly because I was in desperate need of a night time moisturiser and then just kinda wanted a new day time one as well. My skin was playing up a bit at the time too so I was on the look out for something to hopefully help with that issue. My mum had recently purchased a moisturiser from Eucerin and kept saying how much she loved it, so I headed to check them out on the Boots website. That's when I came across these two moisturisers, both from the same range, one for day time and one for the evenings. This range is aimed at oily, blemish prone skin which sounded right up my street. I was quite shocked at the price, in a good way, I thought they were going to be a lot more expensive than they actually were. If I remember correctly, they were around £10-11 each, so really not expensive at all and I actually ended up using my Boots points to purchase them which made it even better.

So firstly I will talk about the day time moisturiser, which comes in a tube with a pump so you can easily control the amount of product you need. This moisturiser is slightly green in colour which I thought may be to help control redness, due to the product being aimed at blemishes which we all know can become angry and red. This moisturiser feels very light on the skin and takes no time at all to sink into the skin, which is perfect when in a rush. It really helps my skin feel hydrated as well which not many products aimed at oily skin often do, so I really like that element to this product. My make up applies seamlessly over the top of this moisturiser which is another great factor. Having oily skin however means it's bound to make its way back to the surface of your skin when it feels like it. By lunch time my oiliness has arrived back but I simply just blot this away when on my lunch break, however this doesn't necessarily mean it's this moisturiser due to applying other products on top of it. Overall I am in love with this day time moisturiser and will definitely repurchase in the future. It simply helps all aspects of my skin which is what everyone looks for when buying a skin care product!

Onto the evening moisturiser which comes in a squeezey tube which I'm not the biggest fan of but again you can easily control how much product comes out. This moisturiser is white in colour and is a lot thicker and heavier in comparison to the day time one. You do slightly feel the heaviness of it on your skin; however that doesn't fully bother me as most evenings I will apply it with only a short period of time to go before I get into bed and go to sleep, but I do understand that this will bother some people. It is easy to apply though and you don't feel like your dragging it across your skin, it's really not that thick but in comparison to the day time one it seems so. This moisturiser definitely helps to keep my oiliness at bay throughout the night until when I wake in the morning. My skin feels fresh and hydrated and if I do have those red angry spots they do look reduced. After applying this product I would simply just put some spot gel onto my blemishes just to help (hopefully) eliminate them quicker. This doesn't affect the moisturiser in any way as from previous experiences sometimes the moisturiser doesn't like additional products applied over the top, but this one worked a treat with other products. Obviously you don't need to apply anything else over the top if you don't need to but just at times with my larger spots I felt the need too. Again, I absolutely love this night time moisturiser and definitely think I will be repurchasing in the future.

If you're skin type is similar to mine then I would 100% recommend trying these two moisturisers out as I am really enjoying using them. I really want to check out the rest of Eucerin's products and see what else they have to offer, especially within this range.

Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Fake Tan

I'm never Summer ready and it always seems to creep up on me; however with the UK weather being so unpredictable I feel this doesn't help my situation. I've got quite a few self/fake tans stored away in my stash but I really wanted something different to test out. I recently watched Anna Saccone's video all about her fake tan routine and that's what made me go and and purchase this particular product.

When I purchased this around a month ago now it was on offer at Boots for around £5/6, which I thought was a great price. I picked up the light/medium shade and I believe it also comes in medium/dark. I basically followed Anna's routine she spoke about in her YouTube video and went along with it; however I definitely need to work on tanning my own back, I had some funny positions going on.

So when using this product I simply just had a good scrub/exfoliate before applying it, focusing on my elbows, knees, ankles and wrists. I then used a mitt to apply the tan basically all over my body. The product is white which can make it slightly more difficult to figure out where you've been but I did find that you can obviously feel the product going on so its not that bad. The product applied really easily and didn't take very long to sink into my skin, however just to make sure it was all sunk in I did wait around 10 minutes before putting any clothing back on. There's a slight smell to the product but it's not very strong and to be honest I actually quite like it.

In the morning I can definitely see a difference in my skin colour and it's a subtle glow which just makes my skin look much healthier. If I want to apply this product more than once to get a richer colour then it still works really well and the colour still looks great and natural. I definitely wouldn't apply this every day, as I don't need it but I did apply this 3 days in a row and then just topped up when I felt I needed it.

Basically this is just an all round great product and my current, new favourite fake tan. I didn't have any streaks or patches either which is such a bonus especially as I have quite dry areas on my skin which exfoliating really helps with. I would definitely recommend this fake tan if you're currently looking for a new one now or in the future. It's really affordable, even when not on offer, and definitely worth it!

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette

I'm really not the kinda girl who's really into eye shadow however I will wear it on special occasions, when I can be bothered. Yes, I am aware that sounds lazy but I think my problem is I'm not sure how to apply it properly so it doesn't look naff basically. But anyway, I picked up this Collection palette a long time ago actually but I had heard a lot of things about it and it was £2.99, so hardly breaking the bank.

So if I do wear eye shadow I really only like the neutral shades, call me boring, but I feel if I stick to neutral then I can get away with just blending the whole thing out and having a hint of colour basically. That's why I was drawn to this palette as they are all neutral shades that are really wearable for day or night. The packaging is pretty flimsy but is great for the price that you're paying to be honest.

I've used this a few times now and have really enjoyed it when I have. The colours are really soft and blendable which is a bonus for a beginner like me. I love the lightest shade in the corners of my eyes and I think could even be used as a highlighter. I also really like a tiny amount of the darkest shade in my crease for more of a noticeable, night time look, however I have been wearing it in the day time. That's what I love most about this palette, it's just so wearable and you could make a slightly more dramatic look and wear it in the evening. But you could create the same look without piling on as much product and wear it in the day time.

Overall for the price tag and what you get, this palette is actually really great and definitely worth looking into if you haven't already. I know they do the same palette in different colour ranges so if this one isn't for you, then there may be another one more up your street.

Collection Primed & Ready Mattifying Pore Minimiser

Here's me trying yet another high street primer out and putting it to the test. On a recent online Boots order I needed to buy a new primer due to running out of my old one. I went onto the primer page and scrolled through all the pages before going back to pop this one into my basket. Two things attracted me; 1. this primer has witch elements in it which is aimed at spots and 2. the price! I believe the price also had an extra £1 off, or something like that, so I basically couldn't not try it because it was super cheap. There are a few other Collection products which I love, so thought this one may live up to those expectations.

Firstly the packaging is pretty standard coming in a tube which you squeeze the product out of. You only need a small amount of this product to cover your whole face, as a little goes a long way. It does feel quite slippery and is silicone based, so if you don't like those sorts of products then you won't like this. I like to leave this for a couple of minutes before going and applying my foundation. After applying this product, my skin looks relatively matte and it does smooth out my skin. I then go and apply my foundation which does apply really well on top of this primer. It looks smooth and great if I'm honest which when I'm in a rush in the morning is great.

After wearing this primer for a few hours, my oily patches do shine through under my foundation. I think that's pretty standard though when you do suffer with oily skin, those of you who do will understand. I think this primer gives me 3-4 hours wear before I do need to powder and blot the oily patches away. I think for such a cheap, affordable primer that's really good wear time.

Overall this primer is a pretty good, standard primer. It's not an outstanding primer but it definitely does a good job in terms of make up application after applying this product and keeping my oil away for a few hours. However, I can't say that the witch element has helped my skin in anyway since I began using this. For the price this is a great mattifying, pore minimising primer so would definitely recommend this. I also think this would work great on all skin types!
