TK Maxx Haul #2

TK Maxx beauty section has really been on point recently and I haven't been able to stop myself from purchasing rather a lot of bits that I've seen as you can probably tell. They always have great brands at a discounted price so it's great when you find something you've been after for a while at a fraction of the price.

The first thing I picked up was from Orly and it's their Primetime which is basically a nail primer which claims to prevent chips. Anything to help my nail varnish last longer is a winner for me so if this product works I'll definitely be raving about it on my blog. I'm not however one to make the process of painting my nails any longer than it can already take. So if this product is not a fast dryer then hopefully it will make up for the no chipping. This product was a bargain at only £2.99.

Next I got this lovely set from Macadamia which includes 6 different products inside and was only around £15. This was something I was really excited to get my hands on as the brand, Macadamia, I've heard so much about. The products are quite expensive when bought separately so I was pleased when I found this set. The products include; a shampoo, conditioner, oil, mask, treatment and a comb. This is a brilliant way to try out all of the products and decide what you like/dislike. I have already dived into this set but I'll do a separate post on all my thoughts.

Finally I picked up a whopping four products from Elemis, again a brand I'd heard so much about but had never actually tried. These were all a great price ranging only from £7.99 to £9.99 so I couldn't resist them. From left to right I picked up; soothing eye rescue, treatment gel, matte attack (including a moisturiser and face wash) and an overnight serum. I've already started a couple of these products but not all of them yet but I'm definitely excited to do so and to get a good opinion on the brand.

TK Maxx haul

And today I bring you another haul post, this time from the beloved TK Maxx. I always love having a good hunt in the beauty bits at TK Maxx as some of the bargains you can get are incredible! Although it can be hit and miss as to whether you find anything or not. This trip there wasn't actually too much but they were still all bargains so I wanted to share them with you.

Firstly I was in desperate need of a new powder brush so I was really pleased when I saw this one from Ecotools. I've heard lots about this brand, all good, so thought I would give this one a whirl. It's super soft and quite large so covers more of your face when powdering. This brush normally retails at £9.99 but I got it for £3.99 which is a bargain.

Next I was in need of a bronzer brush as I kept 'borrowing' my mums one, sshh. So on the same stand I spotted this one from Tuscan Hills. I'd never actually heard of this brand but I liked the small handle and the size of this brush. It's ultra soft and is working really well with my current bronzer and I'm loving the results. I can't actually find an RRP online for this brush and I've removed the label (naughty) but I believe it was the same as the Ecotools at £9.99 but I only paid £2.99 for this one.

Finally I picked up the Good Things blemish control gel mask. Around the time I purchased this I had watched a Lily Pebbles video who mentioned a different product from this brand and she said she really liked it. So I thought I'd try this product from that same brand, Good Things, and see what I thought about it. It retails for £4.99 from Boots and again label has gone, I either paid £2.99 or £3.99 which either is not a huge difference but still cheaper. As you know with me, anything that includes the word 'blemish' instantly attracts me so I'm excited to see how this one fairs. I also haven't used a gel mask before!

The UK weather has definitely turned into Autumn now, the knit cardigans and fluffy socks have come back out for another season. So why not, on this sunny yet chilly Monday morning, take a few outfit snaps. Recently I may have been spending slightly a bit too much money, considering I feel I should be saving due to becoming a student in the next couple of weeks. But when shops have all of their new autumn/winter stock in, it's hard to resist spending. Although my outfit isn't representing autumn today it's still a new outfit I purchased over the last week.

The cut out or open shoulders trend has kind of been and gone over spring/summer but I've only just embraced it. I was browsing in TK Maxx the other day, bearing in mind I had to travel a fair way in order to go to the only good store that's within a respectful distance from me. My sister had also been in there recently and picked up some good bargains so I wanted a go! My sister was also the one to introduce me to TK Maxx, not that I hadn't heard of it, but the fact that I had never shopped in there and now I love it! So I popped in and I honestly resisted so many good bargains I can not tell you! I was a very good girl but I did get a couple of bits, this shirt being one of them. It was also a bargain at only £9.99, hence why I couldn't resist. The monochrome look is something I really like as you could also pair it with something of more colour on the bottom. It is also very versatile, I definitely think you could wear this on a night out or how I have just for an everyday casual look.

Since clearing out my wardrobe recently I realised I don't have that many tops, hence this purchase, so when I saw this shirt I loved it. I love shirts, they are definitely an all year round item, the chiffon material of some of them is what I love. They are comfortable, easy to wear, easy to layer and normally pretty patterned. So when it comes to winter it's easy to just shove on a chunky knit jumper and have the collar poking out, sorted. I teamed this shirt with my new Primark jeans. Story for you, I've had a pair of Primark jeans for literally about 5 years, they were my absolute favourite, but they've died slowly so I've had to replace with these ones. I love Primark jeans firstly for the price, I paid £10 for these beauties and they just simply do the job. Secondly is the fit I find, especially the skinny jeans, that they fit really well in all areas. I'll be very, very pleased if these ones last half as long as my previous pair.

I'm very much a fan of casual and comfy, maybe that should be my motto. It's the one thing (or two) things I think about everyday when deciding what to wear. I'm very much a jeans person due to the comfy factor and also the fact that you can then put pretty much anything on the top half. Don't worry I don't wear jeans day in and day out but I do find myself reaching for them much more than anything else. I would then pair this outfit with a chunky knit cardigan for a casual look or a blazer for a slightly more formal look.
