La Roche Posay Respectissime

  

I was kindly sent these lovely products from La Roche Posay recently. I've mentioned my love for this brand so many times since the beginning of my blog and it still firmly remains one of my favourites. So when these unexpectedly arrived through my letter box, it's safe to say I was very excited.

Firstly the teal pouch which the two products arrived in is just beautiful! It's by Katie Loxton, who I can't say I've heard of before, but have since fallen in love with. It's such a lovely colour and such good quality! I would definitely recommend checking out her website here.

Onto the two products I received, both from La Roche Posay's Respectissime range, which is aimed at sensitive eyes. I don't have sensitive eyes when it comes to mascara, however I do when it comes to removing my eye make up.

So firstly the mascara which only has purified pigments and is nickel-controlled to avoid any irritation, it also contains an 'anti-tears formula' which ensures eyes do not react or run which I think is such a great aspect of this mascara! The brush of this mascara is relatively slim which I personally like as you can get close to the lash line, therefore creating more volume. This mascara really makes my lashes voluminous, look longer and is very black in colour. You can definitely layer this mascara for a more night out look or keep it every day with just a swipe over your lashes.

Secondly the eye make up remover which is fragrance and paraben free, which minimises the risk of intolerance and removes make up without irritating the eyes. This is like other eye make up removers where you shake the bottle to mix the product together, then put onto a cotton pad and wipe your eyes. I really like this make up remover and it does not irritate my eyes in the slightest! I don't need to drag my eye to remove the make up, I just give the cotton pad a little wiggle and go over my lashes a couple of times and it's all removed!

If you have sensitive and irritable eyes then I would definitely recommend you check out this range from La Roche Posay! I'm really enjoying both of these products and the Katie Loxton pouch now has a firm place within my everyday hand bag!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Anti-Blemish System

La Roche Posay is a brand that I have raved about in the past, so when I received this 3 step system as a present, I was over the moon. You get three full sized products within this set, which is amazing, and they're all clearly targeted at blemish prone skin. I've tried several of their products in the past, one of those being the Effalar Duo which I have previously spoken about so I won't go into too much detail about that one. The second product you receive in this trio is their clarifying toner. I really loved using this product, I felt like it really cleaned my face. It got rid of any left over make up that my cleanser may have left of my face, which was super satisfying. I found this product was also really soothing on my blemishes and also helped with the redness. Over time, after using this product, I would say I saw a difference when I finished using this product. Using a toner is the one of the steps of a 'skin care routine' that I honestly do not normally do. However, I thoroughly enjoyed doing so whilst using this particular toner.

The third product is the purifying foaming gel which is effectively a foaming face wash. Unfortunately this is the product that I don't rate very highly out of the three. I simply found that it did nothing for my skin or my blemishes and I don't really have much else to say about this particular product if I'm honest.

Overall this is a great trio set, I personally just cannot warm to the face wash however, it may work for others. I cannot rate the Effaclar Duo enough, it is by far my favourite La Roche Posay product and if you haven't tried it already then you definitely should. La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ Unifiant

I have a fond love for all things La Roche-Posay, so recently when they sent me this new product, I couldn't help but jump for joy. The Effaclar Duo+ is one of my all time favourite skin care products and a product that I constantly repurchase. So when I read about this product, which is ultimately the Effaclar Duo+, however this Unifiant product comes with a sheer coverage.

I got super excited when reading about this product - my favourite skin care product WITH coverage? It couldn't get much better hey. I've been using this product now for a few weeks and have really been enjoying it. It's super easy to apply, I have just been using my fingers but a brush or sponge would work really well too. As I mentioned the coverage is sheer and unfortunately my skin has been playing up recently so when using this product, I have used concealer over the top. The concealer blends smoothly over the top of this product too, which is great considering I need more coverage at the moment.

As I said, I've been mainly using my fingers to apply this and it applies and blends easily too. The colour is pretty much perfect for my skin tone and to be honest I'm actually not sure how many shades this product comes in. It lasts on my skin for a relatively long period of time but does need touching up throughout the day, due to having an oily t-zone. I've really been enjoying this product though, especially on the weekends when I may not be doing a lot and just chilling at home. However, when going for a night out - when I like to have more coverage - then this product isn't my go to.

I'd definitely recommend this product, especially if you're also a fan of the original Effaclar Duo+, as this Unifiant product is great!

La Roche-Posay Nutritic Lips

If you've been reading my blog for a while now then skip ahead, if you're new then you'll need to know that relatively recently I've been scouring the high street beauty shops for the perfect lip balm. My lips, a few months back, became very dry and nothing I had in my stash was helping. So I headed online to Boots to see what I could find on offer. I've tried a few now but the current one that I've been testing out is this one from La Roche-Posay. I picked this up in a recent haul as it was on offer and I love several other products from La Roche-Posay so thought this would be a good option.

I've been using this now for a good few weeks and have really been enjoying it. I must admit there's nothing 'special' about this product packaging or smell or luxe wise. It's your standard twist up lip balm in plastic packaging but what I will admit is that it does the job, really quite well. On application it doesn't seem like the creamiest of lip balms but it actually really is. It keeps my lips hydrated for a long period of time and actually stops them from being sore/itchy. There's no scent to this product either which I actually quite like as it just makes it seem really focused on transforming your lips.

There's not much more I can say about a lip balm but what I can say is that I've really been enjoying using this offering from La Roche-Posay. I believe it retails around £6 which may seem like quite a bit for a high street lip balm but I believe it really does work. La Roche-Posay Serozinc

This post has been a long time coming; I actually purchased this product a while back but have only just recently started using it daily, hence why the post is late. I cannot tell you why I didn't really use this product when I first purchased it but none the less I'm using it daily now. It was such a hyped product when it was first released here in the UK and now the hype has died down, I'll give you my review.

La Roche-Posay is one of my favourite skin care brands and I love their anti-blemish range, which this product fits into. This product is aimed at oily, blemish prone skin and aims to mattify the skin whilst soothing after cleansing. You can simply spray this product onto the skin, which is my preferred method, but you can also put this product onto a cotton pad and apply that way. It's such a simple product to add into your current skin care routine and I do believe that it has helped my skin.

So after cleansing I spray this product all over my face, I do have oily and dry patches but this product doesn't irritate the dry patches and is obviously aimed at oily skin so it works fine all over my face. I do try and aim this at my problem areas but the spray is really fine and sprays quite a large area so that can be difficult, not that it matters. As I said the spray is really fine and really doesn't take very long to sink into the skin after application. It leaves my skin feeling very refreshed and clean, which are clearly both great feelings for the skin.

When I wake in the morning my skin still feels refreshed although it has gathered some excess oil overnight, but this is totally normal for my skin however annoying it is. I think this product has helped my spots, especially the small clusters of tiny spots I get which are sometimes under the skin, I find these less irritable and noticeable.

Overall I'm really enjoying using this product and due to it being such a simple product to add into my skin care routine, it's just so easy and makes a difference. If you've yet to try this product then I would definitely recommend giving it a whirl if you have oily/blemish prone skin. Also if you've tried this product I would also recommend checking out La Roche-Posay's other anti-blemish products as they're just as good :-)

A Few Essentials & Treats

Why can I not seem to contain myself when shopping online on Boots? It's a serious killer and I need to cut down. Yes some of these things were essential due to my current products running out but there's definitely no need for all of it. I guess that explains the beauty blogger in me hey, please say I'm not the only one?

So lets start with the essentials because it will make me feel better. I was in need of a new dry shampoo so I went back to my original favourite which is this Batiste one with a hint of colour in it - which means no white residue! I've tested so many dry shampoos now and this one always comes out on top. Another essential was a heat protector for my hair and I picked up this one from Toni & Guy which I haven't tried before. It was on offer with 1/3 off the price so I snapped it up. This one can also be used on dry hair which I find really difficult to find in heat protectors and I needed one for dry hair so this was perfect. I was also in need of a waterproof mascara but when I saw this offering from NYX I was so intrigued. I have many mascaras in my stash so I thought this would be perfect for me and to use those mascaras up. This product is basically a waterproof top coat for normal mascaras. I'm really looking forward to testing this out to see if it works.

Onto the not so essential products... Firstly I saw this new beauty tool from Maybelline called Dream Blender. I absolutely love the Real Techniques sponge and this tool reminded me of that but on a stick basically. Maybelline products were then on offer, buy one get one half price, so of course I had to get something else. I opted for the Brow Satin as my current brow product is nearly on the way out so I was thinking ahead. This product has a fine tip for defining the shape and then some sort of sponge for filling on the other end, I think. I'm looking forward to giving this a go when my current brow product runs out. Finally I picked up the La Roche-Posay Nutritic lip balm, it was on offer so I couldn't resist and I have a thing for lip balms at the minute. My lips just aren't shifting from this dry stage so I'm basically trying out all lip balms which I've never tried to see if they work their magic.

And that's it for another naughty Boots haul from me. I would say hopefully you won't see another one of these for a while but I'm not sure I can make that promise. Keep your eyes peeled for reviews on these products that I've purchased :-)

Small Escentual Haul

I love browsing on Escentual's website as I seem to always find something I've never heard of or something that might not be new but is new to me. It also stocks some hard to get skin care items which I love. I was browsing on their website the other day when they had 25% off of everything so I couldn't help but purchase a couple of things. I had to restrain myself a lot to be honest, as I have just paid for a holiday so unfortunately couldn't go all out. Maybe next time hey?

Firstly I picked up a repurchase for me which is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+. This is an absolute skin care saviour for me and whenever it runs out I try not to repurchase but I always end up buying it again. It's not the cheapest product so with the discount I couldn't not buy a new one. It works wonders on my spot prone skin and helps to clear it. If you have spot prone skin and you haven't tried this then I 100% recommend it. Even though it has a hefty price tag it is definitely worth every penny and I will say now that I will continue to repurchase this in the future.

Next was something new for me and I heard about in one of Sammi from the Beauty Crush's videos. It's the Vichy Normaderm Night Detox which is also supposed to help with spot prone skin. This product you apply in the evening, before you go to bed as the name suggests. It is supposed to help clean your skin with pores looking minimised and imperfections appearing reduced. This sounded like an easy product to add into my evening skin care routine so I couldn't help but purchase it. Again it was a slightly pricier product, I believe it was around £15 but then I had the discount which obviously made it cheaper which is great.

I'm super excited about both of these products and cannot wait to reuse one and start using the other. Escentual (French Pharmacy) haul

Recently I discovered this lovely website called 'Escentual'. I'm sure many of you may have heard of this site before but if you haven't then it's basically lots of French pharmacy items which obviously we can't get hold of in the UK! They have great deals on at the moment too on their french pharmacy items and it's free delivery if you spend over £30 which is a great deal.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel Honey Lip Balm £6.33

I've heard so many good things about this lip balm and I seem to be suffering with some super dry lips recently. This is a super thick lip balm and feels super nourishing on the lips. It lasts for a great amount of time and I'm excited to keep using it! It's obviously slightly more expensive than your usual lip balm but it's definitely worth it and ten times better than my Dr.Lipp nipple balm.

Vichy Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care £9

Anything with the words 'anti-imperfection' catches my eye and again this is a brand I've heard lots about but never actually tried myself. This is aimed to care for your oily and imperfection prone skin, keeping it hydrated all day. I love the packaging of this, I like pumps they make things much simpler. I haven't used this too much but it is very hydrating and has a pleasant smell to it.

La Roche Posay Effaclar AI £7

Now I love the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ so I thought I would branch out into the brand and try something different. This is also help target blemishes and they say it's a precision breakout corrector. Another plus is that this is paraben free so there's no nasties in their which is always a good thing. I haven't tried this enough yet to give anything away but I'll let you know how I get on.

Klorane Nettle Shampoo £4.50

This shampoo is aimed at oily hair and said to give your scalp a bit of a detox. It's also meant to give you more time between washes which is something I would love. Having to wash my hair every other day can sometimes become a bit of a chore. I've only used this once so far and I did enjoy it but cannot give a full review just yet.

Klorane Mango Conditioner £4.87

I simply purchased this conditioner as it was suggested that with the nettle shampoo. This is aimed to protect, nourish and detangle your dry hair and this seriously smells amazing. Detangling and dry ends is what my hair suffers from so I had high hopes for this. Again I have only used once so a full review along with the shampoo will come soon I'm sure.

I would definitely recommend shopping on Escentual's website, they have great offers - currently 1/3 off French pharmacy items which is a great discount!
