Colgate Max White Toothbrush & Whitening Pen

When I first saw this toothbrush advertised, I was super excited about getting my hands on one. When they were first released, Boots were selling them on offer for around £8 I believe. This product is basically a toothbrush and at the bottom you pull out a whitening pen. As soon as I purchased this I began using it twice a day, as you normally would brush your teeth of course.

The instructions stated that you had to twist the bottom of the pen twice and then apply to your front bottom and top teeth. My first impressions were ok and to be honest it's rather difficult to explain but here goes. Basically the product inside the pen is quite stringy so it made it hard to apply to my teeth. After I had applied it to both my top and bottom teeth, my lips basically removed some of the product when I closed my mouth and covered my lips in the product. This made it difficult but I did manage to perfect my technique after using it a few times.

Having now used all of the whitening pen up, I really can't say that I noticed much of a difference in the shade of my teeth. As most people would say, I wish I had done before and after pictures but I actually think this would have been pointless. I persisted and used all of the product, morning and night, it was just unfortunate that it didn't work for me. My teeth aren't really very yellow however they are ever so slightly stained from drinking coffee and tea.

Overall I think I just over paid for a new toothbrush as the actual whitening pen just didn't work for me; however that doesn't mean it potentially might work for you guys. But I do think there are better teeth whitening products out there, which I will be featuring on my blog in the near future.

I've been currently lusting over the Ray Ban Round Metal sunglasses but I simply cannot invest the money in them, not when I'm supposed to be saving to move out, no matter how pretty they are. I've been looking at them for quite some time but when Asos recently had a mid season sale, I couldn't help but have a browse. I wasn't actually looking for sunglasses but I came across these ones from Toyshades. I had never heard of the brand before but they were in the sale for £7 and they really caught my eye. They caught my eye for the simple fact that they looked the same shape as the Ray Ban ones that I've been after but at a fraction of the price.

 

I then couldn't help but purchase these sunglasses before they went out of stock and they then arrived on my door step the next day. Now obviously these aren't quite as good quality as Ray Bans but they are actually pretty good. They were originally £20 before going into the sale so that's a pretty decent price for a pair of high street sunglasses. These are super comfy when wearing, it honestly feels like I'm not wearing sunglasses which is a bonus. I love the brown colour as they simply go with any outfit.

 

I'm really pleased I purchased these sunglasses, I have left the link above if you want to check them out. I would definitely recommend them if you're like me and simply cannot part with the money for a pair of Ray Bans. They are the perfect dupe!! Now I just need some more sunshine in the UK to be able to wear them...

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Collection

As soon as I heard about this new range of products I knew that I wanted to try them out. I do suffer with oily roots and dry ends which is exactly what this range is aimed at. Boots were doing these three products which are; the shampoo, conditioner and mask, all for £10. I thought this was a great introductory offer however I'm not sure if Boots are still doing it. I've been using these three products together now for a few weeks so feel I can tell you all about my results using them.

So first things first you apply the mask onto dry roots and massage it in. At first I was a bit like what? But I guess it's to prep and get rid of as much oil from those roots as possible. It states to apply this relatively heavily so I do that all round my head and down my main parting. I then go round and massage it all in, you then have to leave it for 5 minutes. The first thing I noticed, and you will notice if you have used or are going to use this mask, is that it stains your fingers blue! Yes it's such a pain and it doesn't come off if you wash them straight after applying the mask. When I've been using these products it's when I've been in the bath and when I get out, my fingers have returned to normal colour, so I think they just need a good old soak.

You then go on to use the shampoo and conditioner as normal, after washing the mask out of course, and you have to make sure you thoroughly remove all traces of the mask from your hair. The shampoo and conditioner are pretty standard, they smell fresh and do the job. My hair does feel particularly soft after using this three step routine and I have really been enjoying doing so.

Onto the real deal, do it make my hair last longer in between washes? The answer is yes, I do get another day out of my hair when using these products. I can guarantee that I will have to use dry shampoo on the third day but that's no biggy as I would normally have to do that on the second day if I hadn't used these products. The only other downside to getting blue fingers is the slightly longer time period you need to do this. Obviously it's only 5 minutes but if you plan on doing this in the shower in the morning before work then you'll have to get in a bit earlier. I know it's not a huge difference but it's something to consider.

Overall I'm really impressed with these products and love that they do actually work in prolonging my hair washes. I've tried a couple of other products which claim to do this but they haven't worked so I'm glad these do. I would definitely recommend these products if you're hair type is like mine, I know hair types are different and these might not work for everyone but I can say they really do work for me. NYX Cosmetics Proof It!

I know many bloggers prefer the waterproof version of a mascara to the normal version. I haven't fallen into that trap and simply always just buy the normal version of any mascara that I want to try or know that I like. The only reason I will buy a waterproof mascara is if I know I'm going to be in need of one; for example going on a hot holiday for one.

Whilst browsing Boots I came across this product from NYX Cosmetics which I was really intrigued by. It's basically a mascara, that you apply on top of your normal mascara and it makes it waterproof. I couldn't decide whether this was too gimmicky that it wouldn't work or whether it was genius. It was a little cheaper than buying a normal waterproof mascara, and all the products I've tried from NYX I have loved, so I thought I would give it a go.

I had a funeral recently so I tested this product on that day and it worked brilliantly. I used my Rimmel Super Curler mascara underneath this product and it applied really easily. It didn't ruin the mascara I had already applied, you couldn't tell I had applied it and it went on smoothly.

There's not too much more I can say about this product but it really did work! So if there's a mascara that you love that you want to turn waterproof without actually buying the waterproof version (if there even is one) then this is your man! As I mentioned it's cheaper than buying a whole new mascara too so it's a win win situation. I would definitely recommend this product, NYX is a brand I am really rating currently :-)

A Few Essentials & Treats

Why can I not seem to contain myself when shopping online on Boots? It's a serious killer and I need to cut down. Yes some of these things were essential due to my current products running out but there's definitely no need for all of it. I guess that explains the beauty blogger in me hey, please say I'm not the only one?

So lets start with the essentials because it will make me feel better. I was in need of a new dry shampoo so I went back to my original favourite which is this Batiste one with a hint of colour in it - which means no white residue! I've tested so many dry shampoos now and this one always comes out on top. Another essential was a heat protector for my hair and I picked up this one from Toni & Guy which I haven't tried before. It was on offer with 1/3 off the price so I snapped it up. This one can also be used on dry hair which I find really difficult to find in heat protectors and I needed one for dry hair so this was perfect. I was also in need of a waterproof mascara but when I saw this offering from NYX I was so intrigued. I have many mascaras in my stash so I thought this would be perfect for me and to use those mascaras up. This product is basically a waterproof top coat for normal mascaras. I'm really looking forward to testing this out to see if it works.

Onto the not so essential products... Firstly I saw this new beauty tool from Maybelline called Dream Blender. I absolutely love the Real Techniques sponge and this tool reminded me of that but on a stick basically. Maybelline products were then on offer, buy one get one half price, so of course I had to get something else. I opted for the Brow Satin as my current brow product is nearly on the way out so I was thinking ahead. This product has a fine tip for defining the shape and then some sort of sponge for filling on the other end, I think. I'm looking forward to giving this a go when my current brow product runs out. Finally I picked up the La Roche-Posay Nutritic lip balm, it was on offer so I couldn't resist and I have a thing for lip balms at the minute. My lips just aren't shifting from this dry stage so I'm basically trying out all lip balms which I've never tried to see if they work their magic.

And that's it for another naughty Boots haul from me. I would say hopefully you won't see another one of these for a while but I'm not sure I can make that promise. Keep your eyes peeled for reviews on these products that I've purchased :-)

Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint

Recently I've become slightly more tame with my nail varnish collection, I used to be obsessed and my collection was (maybe still is) rather large. Nowadays I'm trying to cut down buying them and only trying to buy them if it's a colour I don't own, a formula I know I love or something brand new which these ones are. I've always loved Barry M nail varnishes and that's mainly what the brand is known for. They have had quite a few new releases recently these Sunset Daylight Curing ones being just one of them.

I saw these recently on Asos, when I was having a big of a beauty splurge, and they had some money off so I thought I would give them a go. The colour of this particular nail varnish is what took my fancy to begin with, this one is in the shade 'Peach For The Stars' (I also love how all of these nail varnishes in this range have names related to top pop hits!). When you buy any nail colour from this range you also have to buy the top coat in order for it to work properly. Although I'm guessing if you just wanted the colour then you could use it alone with your own normal top coat you just wouldn't get the benefits of what this nail varnish duo has to offer. Barry M claim that this duo will create a gel like finish and the aim of this is that they bond together using day light, hence the name.

I recently tried this nail varnish duo at the weekend and absolutely loved the application. I used my own base coat and the colour applied really smoothly. The brush is quite large and square which is like my perfect nail brush. I applied two coats of colour and then applied the top coat which again went on really well. Now where I live in the UK it was pretty gloomy on the weekend I applied this and I'm not sure whether or not that has a huge effect on whether this duo works or not. I was painting my nails for that particular night as I was heading out but by the end of the night I saw several chips on a few nails.

Therefore I can't say I was best pleased with this product but as I mentioned I'm not sure whether the weather was a big factor in this particular application. I will definitely give it another go as I absolutely love the colour of this varnish and it honestly is the perfect coral for summer. That is the only reason I can think of as to why this nail duo didn't bond correctly but if you've tried this duo and know of why it might not have worked for me then let me know! I don't want to give up on it yet as I love Barry M nail varnishes and think this could work. Let me know if you've tried this duo and your thoughts :-)

My week in pictures #14

This is another post that I feel like I haven't done in a little while but I do like to collect up some pretty Instagram pictures before doing one of these. So hopefully I have achieved that. It's been a week full of baking, birthdays and (something else beginning with B....) bridesmaids? On the topic of bridesmaids, Lindsey Kelk's new book is out which makes me super excited! If you've never read anything by her before then you definitely should, especially her 'I Heart' series, they're amazing. I'm going to be doing a review in the near future all about those. So I'm hoping that her new one lives up to those which I'm pretty darn sure it will.

I baked chocolate chip muesli cookies which was the first time I had ever attempted the recipe and it actually worked! Normally whenever I do a recipe for the first time it doesn't work out right but this one did. They were super scrummy and went within a few days! I'll definitely be making those again very soon and again may even put the recipe up on my blog.

I purchased a few things from Amazon, one being the Lindsey Kelk book and another being an iPad keyboard. I wanted to be able to type some blog posts up on my iPad instead of having to get my laptop out every time. I've used this a few times now and I really like it. It connects via Bluetooth so there's no leads involved and it works great! I did more shopping on New Look and purchased these beautiful black heels! I honestly love them so much! They're not too high which is one of the main things I look for when buying heeled shoes as I'm pretty tall anyway. I have a few nights out planned over the next month or so and am planning to wear these on all occasions. They're black they go with everything and are super comfy!

It was my eldest nieces sixth birthday, actually now a while back and not the niece pictured above. But we were at that occasion and at Zak's which if you don't know is an amazing American diner restaurant which serves amazing food! Definitely recommend going there if you haven't before and you aren't on a diet.

It's been a busy week and a bit and will continue to be busy now throughout! I'm looking forward to the bank holiday weekend for an extra day off of work and will hopefully get some plans in place! Maybe another occasion that I can wear my new heels at.. can you tell I'm excited to wear those by the way? I hope you've all had a lovely week or so :-)

Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Triple Baked Blusher

It wasn't until a few weeks back, when I finally placed an order with Makeup Revolution, that I got round to trying some of their products. Whilst browsing every inch of their website, so I didn't miss any exciting products, I came across this blusher. It instantly reminded me of the Too Faced blushes which look pretty much identical. I've never tried the one from Too Faced but have always wanted too and this offering was a fraction of the price. Hence why this one made it into my basket for me to try out.

Now in the colder months I'm not normally a blusher wearer, I get pretty flushed cheeks anyway, and for some reason it's the product that I forget to put on. Do not ask me why because I have no idea it just seems to be that way. Firstly the packaging, to be really honest it's not too great in my eyes. Obviously the heart shape is lovely but the actual cardboard packaging is quite flimsy. There's already a part on the lid which is coming apart and on the inside you can see where it's all glued and stuck down. This isn't very appealing but I guess for the measly price you pay then you get what you pay for.

Onto the actual product which I have really enjoyed using. The colour pay off is really good, you literally need the tiniest amount of product on your brush. I literally just swirl my brush over all of the three colours included but obviously you could just focus on one of the three is you preferred. I do love the results I get from all three colours, it comes out quite a peachy colour. This blush also gives quite a highlighted look on the cheeks which I rather like and think will look really lovely in the coming summer months.

Overall I am really pleased with this blusher and think it is great for the price of £4.99. There are other colour variations which may be worth having a look at if this one isn't your cup of tea. Makeup Revolution Haul

I've seen many people on my Twitter talk about products from Makeup Revolution and I've never taken the plunge. I was recently browsing their website, actually for the first time, and these products just found their own way into my basket. They are really affordable prices and I had to restrain myself from buying more. But these three items really intrigued me and are products I've been sought after for a little while.

Firstly I picked up their Blushing Hearts triple baked blusher. My these are pretty, I've eyed up Too Faced version of these but they are super expensive. So when I saw this offering I just had to buy it. It's so cute and the perfect shade for me as I don't like my blushers too pink. This is in the shade 'Candy Queen of Hearts' and is definitely more on the peach side but does have a section of pink in it too. As it's triple baked there are basically three different blusher shades in this one product and you sweep them all with your blusher brush and you're away. I'm excited to try this and there will be a full review coming soon.

Next I purchased their Ultra All Day Prime & Anti-Shine Balm. This is the product that really intrigued me therefore I just had to buy it and see what it was all about. I'm still not sure I'm 100% as I read you can apply this over make up but it's like a balm so not sure how that would work. So I will be trying this as a primer primarily and see what results it gives. The balm seems really smooth therefore hopefully easy to apply. It comes with a little sponge thing which actually feels really nice so I may try using this to apply the product. Again I'm sure I will do a full review in time.

Finally I picked up a concealer brush as would you believe I don't actually own one, therefore I needed one didn't I? This is just your plain and simple concealer brush, like I said don't own one so was intrigued about how it would apply my concealer onto my face and the finish it gives. This one feels really soft and just has pretty short bristles. I'm still yet to use this but am hoping it will help cover my spots by using a brush instead.

And that's my small Makeup Revolution haul complete! As I said, I'm just kind of testing the waters of this brand as it's completely new to me. I am looking forward to trying all of these products and I'm sure there will be full reviews on them all in the future, so keep your eyes peeled for those. Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad in Purple Haze

I'm not a huge lover of doing something extravagant on New Years Eve but this year I am heading out. No where too posh so I don't need that LBD or anything fancy but I want to do something a bit different with my make up instead. I purchased this eyeshadow quad a real long time ago now and have barely touched it since. So I thought it was about time I dived into my make up stash and used a few bits that I haven't really in the past, this being one of those. I absolutely love the shades in this quad and think it will be perfect for my NYE make up.

I've also mentioned in previous blog posts that I'm not all that glued up on eyeshadows and don't actually own that many. This one in particular seems pretty fool proof due to the numbering embossed onto each eyeshadow colour. This indicates where you should apply each colour on your eyes. This is a great idea for eyeshadow newbies as you simply can't really go wrong. I have always loved the look of a purple smokey eye on others so I cannot wait to recreate it.

The actual eyeshadows are super soft on application and blend really well. I don't think much of the brush included in this quad, as I'm sure many agree, and I tend to always use my Real Techniques eye brushes which this works really well with. All these shades together work really well and do easily create that purple smokey eye in a matter of minutes. The lasting power of these eyeshadows is pretty standard, when doing a full eye make up look like this I will always use a primer which is a lifesaver really. So the primer really holds the eyeshadows in place, certainly for the whole night so no need to pop this in your clutch bag for the night out. Unless your going from day to night, then a touch up will be needed but this would be a great time to simply use the brush included to save clutch bag space.

The packaging is nothing amazing but again perfect to simply throw in your bag if needed. It comes with a decent sized mirror inside so when/if you need to touch up it is easily done so. Again there is a brush included which could potentially come in handy. The simple black plastic packaging is sleek and actually doesn't look too cheap.

Overall I will definitely be using this eyeshadow palette on NYE for my night out. I think it's a great time to do a full on eye look easily and quickly. Tanya Burr lips & nails: Exotic Island & Penguin Chic

Feeling slightly sleepy already due to waking around 6:45am on a Saturday when I don't start work until this afternoon.. annoying or what! So having done most of the lazy things you tend to do on a weekend morning I thought I would now share a new post with you, one that I've been meaning to share for a very long time. The gorgeous Tanya Burr launched her own lip gloss and nail polish range a while back and I picked up one of each to test out.

When these first launched they were pretty darn hard to get hold of. I ordered mine from Feel Unique and due to the high demand delivery did take rather a long time. But I did finally get my hands on these and I'm super excited about both and love them both - bonus! There are such a wide range of both lip glosses and nail polishes including your bright bolds, hot pinks and neutrals. This made it super hard to decide which shades to choose from (all of which also have super cute names making it even harder). But in the end I opted for a bright lip gloss in Exotic Island and a neutral nail polish in Penguin Chic.

Firstly the lip gloss.. The colour is just oh my, so beautiful. I really was hoping this would be as pigmented and bold as it looks and I can tell you it definitely is. It glides on effortlessly, not sticking to any dry patches which I tend to suffer from. It's a lovely hot purple toned pink which I think is perfect for the coming summer months and nights out. As I said it's super pigmented meaning you can afford to just wear it on it's own but you've also got the option to put it over the top of lipstick maybe for a night out. The packaging is simple which I love and I have to tell you about the smell. These lip glosses just smell absolutely incredible, literally like strawberries and cream or something sweet! I'm never normally a huge lip gloss fan but this one has definitely won me over, it's not too tacky/sticky and gives the perfect amount of colour. All in all this is a great product and definitely worth the £6.99 price tag.

Next the nail polish, I picked up the shade Penguin Chic which is a gorgeous brown/purple/grey, nice and neutral for everyday/every season wear. The formula is lovely, I would recommend more than one coat to achieve the super glossy look which I love. These are easy to apply and dry relatively quickly. They do leave your nails looking nice and glossy although I also apply a top coat to prolong the wear. I absolutely love the packaging again, very chic and simplistic which I think makes the product look a lot more up market. At only £5.99 these nail polishes are affordable and worth it. Again the colour range includes all of the must have colours for each different season which is perfect.

Overall I definitely recommend getting yours hand on either a lip gloss or nail varnish or even both if you feel like splashing out. They're both amazing quality for the prices you pay and in my eyes worth it. Tanya Burr's collection is now available in Superdrug which is a lot easier and means you can really see what all the shades are like. So pop down to your local and see what takes your fancy (also give the lip glosses a whiff!) Enjoy your weekend :-)

MAC Crosswires Cremesheen Lipstick

This week seems to have felt very long so today I bring you my FIRST EVER MAC lipstick!! I finally now know what all you bloggers are chatting about when you talk about these lipsticks. What better post to bring you than a beautiful new lipstick now added to my collection.

I was very over whelmed at the MAC counter, the amount of lipsticks is just crazy and with it being my first lipstick I was unsure about what to go for. Yes I did have shades in mind which I had been looking at and previously seen so I had a rough idea. After a lot of thought I finally picked up the shade called 'Crosswires'. It's a beautiful pinky orange shade, if those colours had a baby this would be it, call it coral-y if you wish. It's a cremesheen finish so not a full on colour, more of an everyday colour for me, definitely still noticeable

The finish is gorgeous, it glides on super smoothly as the cremesheen finish would suggest. It's ever so creamy which I like especially as it's winter and my lips are very dry! Although it can tend to cling to dry patches I just scrub and moisturise my lips before applying. It has pretty good staying power and even when it does start to fade, it does so evenly and leaves a lovely tint on the lips. This also does not feel heavy on the lips, nice and light as if you're not even wearing lipstick, again perfect for everyday.

The packaging is lovely and sturdy. It doesn't feel cheap and plastic like so there's (hopefully) no prone to breaking when chucked into a handbag. It's simple chic black and silver packaging with MAC written both on the lid and inside. It's sort of bullet shaped which is a nice small touch. It doesn't feel cheap which is obviously a good thing when you're paying £15 for a lipstick which is obviously on the steep end.

Overall I'm really pleased with my first MAC purchase and will probably, more than definitely be buying more! I've definitely got a few more shades on my mental list.

MUA Haul

Another haul I hear you say, well yes I am afraid so but I've been currently purchasing a few bits from the same shop/brand and find them a nice and easy post to do, and also hopefully you guys like reading them! This haul wasn't planned, MUA had a percentage off their whole website when you spent £15 (I think it was 15% but could have been more I've totally forgotten sorry!) so I jumped straight on as there were a few bits that I needed to add to my current make up collection (that's probably a total lie, I more than definitely have enough make up but hey ho I'm a blogger).

MUA, if you didn't know, is a very cheap and affordable make up brand which is available in Superdrug. But recently I noticed in my local Superdrug that it no longer exists, gutted. So when I saw this offer I couldn't resist. The main thing I wanted to get were some new blushers as mine recently are very shimmery and summery so I've been in the wrong season. But I couldn't only pick a couple of those up...

First I got 2 new lipsticks, MUA have recently released a new matte range and I've never tried a matte lipstick so for £1 I thought why not. I picked up the shade called 'Peachy Keen' (the matte lipstick is in the white packaging) it's a lovely peachy/pinky colour which I like but I am yet to try this yet. I'm hoping it won't be too drying as I have relatively dry lips anyway so not sure if this will work for me. The next lipstick I got was just from the normal range in 'Shade 12', it's a bright hot pink colour. I'm not completely sold on this product as it's like glittery which I really don't think I will like on the lips! You could not tell it was glittery on the website so pretty disappointed but I'll give it a go.

Next I got 2 nail varnishes again only £1 and I've tried MUA polishes before and actually really like them so couldn't resist. You'd think that I need purples in my collection, well no I don't but I really love these 2 shades. The darker purple is called 'Deepest Purple' and this is the one shade of purple I don't think I own, I have tonnes of lilac's and pastel purples but not a deep one and thought it would be perfect for autumn/winter. Next I picked up the shade called 'Frozen Yoghurt' which I absolutely love. I would say it's quite a blue toned purple and quite a pastel shade.

I then got 2 blushers, as I said this was one of the reasons this haul happened. My 2 favourite blushers at the moment are rather shimmery and summery as I've said so I wanted to branch out and try some new coloured blushers. The first I got is in 'Shade 2' this is the one on the left in the last picture. This one is the more pink blusher, matte colour so no shimmer involved. Secondly I got 'Shade 4' which I was more excited to try, the one on the right in the picture. This one is more orange/peachy and I really don't think I've ever tried a blush in this colour. For £1 you really can't go wrong and for experimenting with colours they are the perfect blushers to do so.

The final 2 things I got was a new brush, this one is called 'F4' and is the face powder brush. My current powder brush has totally gone horrible and stiff so I thought I'd try one from MUA. It's lovely and soft on the face and was only £3.75 so a total bargain. I've only used this once but I enjoyed using it, although think anything would have been better than my old one now! And last but not least I picked up the Pro-Base Fixing Mist. Recently I've been loving using a face mist to help keep my make up in place, this is only the second one I've tried as I don't seem to see them often in the drug store so thought I'd try this one. This was the most expensive at £5 but obviously you still can't complain at the price, it's also quite a large bottle so will keep me going for a while!

And that's my MUA haul complete! I love MUA for cheap and affordable make up and like I said for experimental use and if you then find a product you love then it's even better! Avon Haul

First things first I'm sorry for the lack of posts/tweets, if you didn't know about my new adventure (you can read that post here) then I started uni last week and literally haven't stopped since. I don't think I have ever been so busy, apart from working in retail around Christmas time. I also haven't had a day off since last Monday and my next day off is Sunday so if I think I'm tired now I need to think what I will be like on Saturday (zombie). So with a short afternoon off I thought it was the perfect time to write a blog post for you.

Onto the haul.. My mum always gets the Avon catalogue and I always have a sneaky peak to see if there's anything I want to order. She's been getting the catalogue for years and I actually really like the make up and other bits and bobs that Avon have to offer. They do some really good deals and I've got one to tell you about today that I just couldn't resist.

The first things I got was this really pretty eye shadow quad. I love purple and green eyeshadows especially as I have brown eyes so when I saw this quad I thought it was perfect. Now I'm not the best at eyeshadow, I don't actually wear it that often and when I do I'm no master at it. So each shade in this quad has a number on it and then on the back of the box is a small diagram showing you which shade to put where, which is something I really love. It makes it super easy for beginners, like me. I have tried this quad and absolutely love the colours, they are really well pigmented and long lasting. I really want to use this quad on a night out so I can make the look slightly more dramatic. I believe this was also only £5 which is an absolute bargain for four eye shadow shades.

Next I got this super duper awesome mascara, I mean just look at it! I'd seen in it in the Avon catalogue before I ordered and couldn't resist the cool shape it had. It looks a bit scary and does take a little bit of getting used to when applying it simply due to the completely different shape to the normal wand mascaras. I've only used this a few times but I am really loving it already, again if you don't know me then I'm very fussy with mascaras, but the formula of this one is lovely. It's easy to use, glides on easily and really lengthens and thickens the lashes. I paid £10 for this mascara which I'd class the slightly higher end of the 'high street' but this is where my good deal comes in. I paid £10 for the mascara but as I purchased this I got the concealer, eye make up remover, eye shadow primer and eye shadow brush FREE! And those freebies were meant to come to just over £20 which I thought was an absolute bargain and therefore couldn't resist. I can't actually comment on any of the freebies as yet as I haven't tried them but I'm very excited too.

Finally I picked up this hair straightening comb, it was new in and instantly caught my eye when looking at the page. I don't have naturally straight hair and if I want it straight it can take me a fair while to actually straighten it all as I have so much hair. So when I saw this I thought it was a pretty good tool to help straighten my hair from when it's wet. I believe it was only around £3 so not breaking the bank and I'm only yet to try it the once so far. I tried using it on wet hair and using this tool alongside with my hairdryer to dry it straight. I'm afraid to say I didn't enjoy it, I found as my hair is rather long it really made my arms ache to use and also the comb wasn't very friendly. It really tended to pull my hair and that's one of my pet hates and all time worst things - me or people pulling my hair so this didn't make me enjoy this product. But don't get me wrong I'm going to give it more than one attempt!
